Just stayed here the 1 night after visiting Oxford and Blenheim palace. Had a very nice evening meal sat in the bright conservatory, then a drink at the bar. Had a very nice English breakfast in the morning, the staff were very nice and helpful and would recommend a stay here if just passing through.

Amazing village pub with fantastic food. Jackie and Ian are great hosts with a great choice of beers and wine. Good service even on a busy night, worth a visit. The steaks are well prepared excellent quality mine was cooked to perfection.

Only had a drink here. Sat in garden whilst watching the traffic pass through Charney. If this is not how you roll then you can sit in another garden to the side of the pub. When we were there it was very quiet and very peaceful.

The food was ok. Yes I could have made better at home and I know it isn't just about that...but when you are having a lunch treat and the club sandwich is a bit dry...a bit too dry, and the burger is ok, but you could make better at home, it is a bit of a let down. Soft drinks... More

Stayed at the Chequers for a night when visiting our new grandchild. The owners were lovely and made us very welcome. The room was clean, light and charming. The location is quite and has a view over the village green. Our evening meal was excellent....if you like steak, you'll love this pub!

Nice friendly pub, always feel really welcome. Beautiful and clean. Good choice of food on the menu. Food is really good, plenty to fill you up. I hate leaving a pub or restaurant feeling hungry. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.

The Chequers is a great country pub. It is warm and cosy and the staff are lovely. It's a good place to go for a meal lunchtime or in the evening. It has a good menu of pub favourites plus specials. Steaks are a speciality. The steak and kidney suet pudding was lovely. Nice fresh vegetables and a choice of... More
