Our motel is located 30 minutes South of the Anchorage Airport and 10 minutes North of Girdwood along Alaska's Scenic Byway, the Turnagain Arm. Offering comfortable rooms with reasonable rates for nightly, weekly or extended stay travelers.
We stayed here one night as we explored the Turn Again Arm area. It looks rough on the outside, but the room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable, and decent pressure in the shower. There was a good sized fridge, microwave, and selection of tea and instant coffee. The table and two chairs were handy for eating our meal, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the long twilight. The hotel is set back from the road so noise was not a problem.

I was impressed by this place. Myself and some friends stayed here last couple nights of August. You can tell when you walk into the rooms the owners have put some money into this place - particularly on the insides. The stainless steel fridge/freezer is slightly bigger than typical chain hotel fridge. The TV, kitchen bathroom tiles, etc., all looked pretty new. I read one review that warned you are close to the highway so you might hear some road noise, but it looked like the room windows are fairly new also, and the hotel sits quite a ways back from the road - it was very quiet. Also, the location is really pretty. You walk out the door and you can see Bird Ridge just to the North - it's right in the mountains on Seward highway. Debated giving it 5 stars, although it's not fair to call it a 5 star hotel. A few very minor things - our light switch was backwards, a little bit of junk behind of the office building, etc, but overall I was impressed…

I like a lot of people coming out of Anchorage picking up someone at the airport, we were at the Anchorage airport late and the Bird Creek Motel is a great location to stop for the night, especially if you’re headed to the Kenai Peninsula. Two bedroom apartment with living room and for kitchen and access to a private laundry room. Beds are comfortable and linens soft, and were able to walk across the street to go to the beautiful campground with a fabulous PAVED trail system. The family is super nice and they have a wonderful friendly front desk pup!!! Recommended!

We wanted to stay somewhat close to Anchorage Airport for our return trip from Homer. What a pleasant surprise! Owners were nice, price was reasonable, and good pub grub close by. Most importantly though, the room and amenities were terrific -- clean linens, full sized washer and dryer, big fridge and coffee/tea making supplies. It is set a bit back from highway so we heard no noise. Definitely recommended! (Booking tip - if possible, book through their direct website birdcreekmotel.com. Your price is the same but the owners benefit by not having to pay a booking site fee. Helps them keep prices low.)

The room was larger than I expected. It was clean, modern and well-equipped. For the price, there were many amenities. The owner was welcoming and customer-oriented. Its major drawback is that the location, close to the road and in our case, close to road construction, can mean some traffic noise; however, it wasn't bad. Across the road some, there's a lovely view so it would be a good place to walk, situated several miles from Girdwood along Turnagain Arm.

We stayed one night in a room with 2 beds in the same room. It was clean and comfortable. The family who runs the place is nice and very helpful. We decided to change our hotel for our last night and return. Unfortunately, they only had a large apartment, which was kind of a waste for 3 people to sleep before leaving, but we booked it. There was a kitchenette, a living room, and two separate bedrooms. Everything was very clean. You do have to clean up after yourself or there is an extra charge. We would go back to this hotel (well, we did). The hotel is very close to the Girdwood attractions.

My first thought was to keep on driving. I am so glad I didn't. The room was immaculately clean. The bed was very comfortable. The wi-fi and tv were both good. Coffee pot (extremely important) and small fridge! The owner even waited for me for my late check-in. Don't pass them by.

A fine place to stay in the rv park. Fishing is good in nearby bird creek for salmon but difficult because of mud. Friendly staff. Right on the highway so traffic noise most of the time. Easy to find.

Outside looks a little dated, but the rooms are cute. Nice soft beds with cute bedding and comfy pillows! Close to Girdwood, Byron glacier, portage glacier, Alaska wildlife conservation center and bird creek for fishing. Fantastic place to lay our heads after a day of adventuring!
