Reflected in the Macchu river, the 19th century Darbargadh spreads out all the glory and magnificence of a century made eternal by the patronage of maharajas . The Jadejas ruled Morvi from the 17th century, but the oldest wing of their palaces that remain at Darbargadh, dates back to circa 1885 and is credited to HH Shri Waghji Rawaji Thakore.Wooden stairways lead to marble galleries that skirt the palace while spacious public areas lead to equally vast suites with bathrooms the size of apartments ! A palm-fringed garden sits on one edge while a fountain bubbles in one of the courts. Kathiavad is rich in monuments – even with an Indus Valley site at Lothal – and pilgrim spots which can be accessed from Morvi.

Travelled to Morbi to attend a marriage function along with family. Visited Darbargarh palace/Mahal Restaurant during our free time and it was simply awesome. Indian culture at its best. Gives a very Royal feeling while inside. Although the outside area needs to be maintained.

We had reached the property in the afternoon and had a stop over, the place was having a platial look from outside. We had worked well.. and were very tired, We just had dinner and left for onward journey. The look, feel and service of the place is royal in my books.

I stayed at the property in January 2014. I'll never forget my first impression and all of the "wows" that came while exploring the property. Read the other reviews....consider where this place is located. This is the type property that makes even an average photographer look

It is difficult to rate this property as a whole. If you are looking for a place where to relax in a safe, comfortable room, with facilities that you would expect from, say, a 4 star hotel, then this is definitely not the place. In fact, it hardly meets even the basic standards

"all rooms where individual & special"
"Go for the old world charm and the "regional feel"' don't expect a glitzy palace and you will not be disappointed."
"There is no lift, so if you don't want to climb, opt for the Vijayba Mahal on the ground floor or maximum first floor, rather than Mayurdhwaj Mahal on the second floor."
"Go for Kesarba Mahal or Mayurdhwaj Mahal if you are looking for a river-view room and for Mahindra Mahal if the view doesn't matter much! Personally, Mahindra Mahal has the best bedroom for deep dreamy slumber!! :)"
