We stayed at Honduyate for our family trip and it was amazing! The view was overwhelming and the accommodations were top notch. Customer service was excellent as well as the variety of activities offered during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel, its hosts and staff made me feel at home and my family and I enjoyed our trip to the fullest. Truly thankful for enhancing our experience and making our stay memorable!
There aren't many choices in Lago de Yojoa. I have stayed here twice. The first time was in Cabana #3 & it was excellent. The 2nd time was in #17, I believe. It was clean but nothing to brag about. The first room the AC barely worked so we had to insist on moving rooms. The 2nd room the AC worked well. Clean, comfortable beds, clean bathroom however it didn't have hot water. This place is conveniently located on the Pan American highway and has beautiful views. Decent food although could use some improvement. I didn't taste the fresh caught fish but everyone raved about it and my husband did say it was excellent. You can't beat the views here. Pool was clean.
I visited Honduyate with my family in early October. We had a wonderful lunch while contemplating the breathtaking Lago de Yojoa. I really enjoyed my dessert, homemade apple pie. The owners are fantastic hosts! There's an amazing garden with an extraordinary variety of flowers and trees. Absolutely stunning!
We were able to spend the last night of our Honduran trip at this hotel. Our room was absolutely beautiful and very affordable. We were treated very well by all of the hotel staff. There were few who spoke and understood English but the smiles they gave us we certainly understood. Thankfully we had an interpreter with us too. The scenic mountains, birds, and plants were captivating and the food was wonderful and authentic. I would without hesitation stay here again if I visit this area of Honduras.
We ended up here after our massive hike at Parque Nacional Cerro Azul Meambar. 5 hours later I am about to starve and was about eat my arm. We only ate lunch here at the Restaurante Chalet del Lago and took the tour of the lake on the boat. The owner was great and made us feel at home and gave us some great information about the lake. Fish was to die for. He raises them himself in the lake and you can tell they are as fresh as possible.
