We stayed in January 2020 in the suite room. Excellent room with nice view of pool and lake. Food was really good with varieties. Room was clean, staff was great. The hotel is walking distance to the Tissa Lake and you can have a boat ride on the lake, the lake tour is worth doing and not too expensive. The Tele cinema which is about 20 minutes away is not worth going. It is Rs 1300 per person and you will see only collapsing building where they make movies before. Government is just wasting money paying the workers and no one can speak English. There is no one their to explain in English, it is just rubbish and we don't recommend anyone to go their. Overall the hotel was excellent. This is just a request to management, The swimming should have a board telling people to have wash before entering the pool and the suite room should have a bigger shampoo and soap holder. We will come back to this hotel again.

My daughter and I have just spent 9 glorious days at this delightful hotel. We extended our 3 night stay to 5 and then 9 nights as we couldn't fault it in terms of location (on the banks of beautiful lake tissa) and excellent value for money. We used it as a base to do safaris at Yala NP. The hotel arranged this for us with Ceylon Safaris - our driver Gamini aka Sunil was also a very experienced and knowledgeable guide both in the NP and showing us the highlights of the local area. We had previously stayed at Cinnamon Wild and were underwhelmed in comparison to Ekho. Ekho is less than a third of the cost of Cinnamon Wild and has more of a 'wow' factor. Walking through the open plan reception to view the pool overlooking the lake you will see what I mean! All the staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient and the food is delicious. This is my third trip to Sri Lanka and we have stayed at many mixed budget places on our travels - from 5 star to homestay. This hotel was our favourite for many reasons and hence our longest stay. A special thanks to Sachini, Asitha, Chef Rukshan & Jayasamiya for making our stay so memorable.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started my 14 day quarantine at the hotel but feel blessed that I selected this hotel. We were not allowed out of the room as per the rules but hotel staff and the Sri Lanka Army personnel catered to all our needs looking after us with such warmth and great care. Ekho Safari is clean and picturesque and helped soothe my nerves making me relax and unwind. Food was delicious and varied, they even served us a glass of coriander water daily. My special and humble thanks go to the Sri Lanka Army personnel who looked after us with great care and kindness. They helped us get through the 2 weeks with a smile, continuously checking on us and helping us with our needs - Hats off to you Sri Lanka Army, I am your fan forever and I respect you immensely. My sincere thanks to Mr. Lilan Jayaweera, Resident Manager and his efficient team too, without whom all this would not have been possible. I was happy to go home after completing the quarantine but was sad to leave the hotel too and hope I can get to see you all again, next time as a valued guest and can enjoy the beautiful surroundings, hotel facilities and the lake view leisurely. Kudos to you all!
