David and I decided to Walk past Roncesvalles this year and stay in Burguete, as this is where Hemingway used to stay when in Pamplona. It was charming, clean, nice and perfectly located. There was a nice SuperMercado down the street. We were on the path to start out the next day for Zubiri. We would be happy to stay...

We had a wonderful stay and great meal here when walking the Camino. The owner was delightful and fun to talk to. The meal was delicious and great to experience Hemingway. I would highly recommend as an alternative to Roncevalles. Try the Marietta dessert.

We booked in here when on the camino - beautiful old place with lovely polished wooden floors, full of history. We found it very comfortable but the atmosphere was very strange due to the odd behaviour of the man in charge.......only three others staying there which included by chance an American couple we had met walking the previous day. The...

Hotel Burguete is a lovely old and traditional Hotel. Rooms are spacious and quite and the restaurant decent offering all the typical Navarra dishes. Between the three of us, we salad, beans, filet, trout and red peppers filled with cod. Wine was included as was bread and desert for 14 euros. Breakfast held little diversity offering sweet breads and toasted...

Charming and a welcome relief after hiking from St Jean Pied de Port. I trudged in dirty and drenched from being caught in a heavy thunder storm. I didn't have a reservation, but, the male staff was friendly and welcoming and quickly checked me in. The hot shower was awesome. The room was large, clean, quiet and quaintly furnished. Good...

Stayed for one night while on the Camino route. This hotel has lovely authentic features including many photographs showing how it's changed over the years. The rooms were roomy and spotlessly clean, including our shared lobby area. Showers / bathroom were adequate. Unfortunately all the people working in the hotel were very unfriendly with no welcome and barely spoke to...

We stayed here one night while trekking the Camino. Our room was HUGE and spotless with lovely wooden floors, two comfy twin beds and a great shower with hot water and pressure in the bathroom. There was a large cupboard to hang things up, two dressers, and a Juliet balcony overlooking the street which we left open to hang our...

We were the only guests here and it felt somewhat lonely. The welcome was muted and we did not discover the restaurant till next day. The rooms were airy and good ensuite. The polished floor boards echoed! Rooms were good value at 45 euros We ate down at the Hotel Loizu down the road and wished we had stayed there...

This is a small friendly hotel where Hemingway once stayed (and which also features in his novel "The Sun Also Rises"). The rooms are large and clean and so are the bathrooms. It has all required comforts but is not a luxury hotel. It does however have a lot of atmosphere with wooden floors and the sounds of cows grazing...

“Ask for loads of coffee/tea in the morning because there won't be any refills ;-) Don't forget to leave your key in the morning. We were street side and it was nice to look out at the walkers in the early morning - there wasn't any noise day or night so that's not a concern.”
