We chose Steading Cottage as our family base for the trip to Edinburgh and were not disappointed. It is well proportioned, with more than enough room for a family of four to holiday in comfort. It is presented with everything you will need for a family holiday, even including wellies! The cottage is ideally positioned if you want somewhere near... More

We stayed at Craigengar from 1st - 8th August, allowing family members from around the globe to get together. The facilities and space were fantastic, allowing everyone to mix and yet also have their own space. The house is well equipped, meaning we were not wanting for anything. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, welly boots and a games cupboard full... More

I organised a family trip for a weekend at Craigengar for my husband's 30th and could not have been happier. We had an amazing time and G was the perfect host. The lode itself had everything and more you could expect; they had really thought about every minute detail. I'd highly recommend staying here (in fact, we're already looking at when... More

We stayed here from 1-8 August as a large family group. The house and surrounding country side lived up to all our expectations. With an age range within the party of 9 years old to 76 years old and a glut of teenagers in between there was space for everyone and enough resources to occupy them all too!. The kitchen... More

We visited in July with a large group. The property sits in its' own field, behind a bank of trees and feels like a real escape despite being only half an hour or so from Edinburgh. We were instantly impressed with the scale of the building, which can easily accommodate large groups, and the luxury finish within. The property is... More

We stayed a week here for a nearby wedding. The setting is wonderful, about a half mile back from the road, very quiet and peaceful, except for the sheep! The house itself is spacious, modern, clean, and very cosy. Log fire and games provided for the evenings in, huge kitchen and living room, and was a great place to base... More

Craigengar Lodge is in a beautiful location surrounded by undulating hills and fields with sheep in either side of the track leading up to it; they were fed each morning. It was very entertaining the watch the ewes feed with the lambs running excitedly around before latching on for their milk! The lodge is well designed (like Grand Designs) and... More

This was mine and my wife's first holiday in 6 years, and the first with our 14 month old son. Steading Cottage provided an exceptional family base for our visit to Scotland. The peaceful surroundings of Crosswoodhill Farm, and highly agreeable facilities helped make it a holiday to remember. From the outset, we were warmly greeted by G who made... More

MindforYou had our first holiday to Craigengar in January and our guests enjoyed it so much they are wanting to return for another holiday in September. The service we received from G was first class. One of our guests announced they liked marmite on their toast in the morning and within minutes G returned with a jar of marmite for... More
