I recently visited Craigengar Lodge and had an amazing stay in some fantastic scenery. The host was extremely welcoming and helpful with anything we needed. The 360 degree views are spectacular and feature throughout the house. There are some great walks from the doorstep and it is also very easy to get the train to Glasgow and Edinburgh. I would highly recommend Craigengar Lodge and would love to visit again!

Last week me and 13 friends spent the week in Craigengar lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the beautiful and spacious house. The host was absolutely brilliant and helped us with everything we needed! One of the best holiday cottages I’ve ever stayed in! Would definitely visit again!

We loved staying here for a few days in July. The Wing is cosy and welcoming with lots of games,/cuddlies, /books etc to keep the little ones happy - my toddler loved it! Geraldine was a welcoming host who was nearby to ask advice if needed and she made sure to check we were happy throughout our stay. Would recommend. Thank you for being a great host G, we really enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful stay - just what we were looking for! A beautiful stone cottage with easy transport links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. We stayed at Steading Cottage and it has lovely homely touches as well as a log burner and quirky staircase! G provided a beautiful stay and we even got coffee and cake on arrival! Highly recommend and perfect for dogs. Thank you for being such a lovely host especially during such strange times! We hope to come back!

We were the one of the first to visit Crosswoodhill post lockdown and Geraldine really did make us feel welcome and was very accomodating. The wing is an absolute delight to stay in and really is the perfect place to switch off and enjoy the home comforts. We only came from Edinburgh but it was a refreshing escape from the city. We couldn't resist the cosey wood burner after a long day walking in the rain. The kitchen has everything and we enjoyed making a variety of cakes, bread and hearty meals. The wing is a steeped in History and the 17th century windows are wonderful. We also enjoyed looking through all of the local walking books which provided lots of inspiration for mini adventures.

Response from Geraldine Hamilton, Owner at Crosswoodhill Farm Holiday Cottages Near Edinburgh
Responded Jul 9, 2020
I don't usually respond to reviews as I prefer to email my kind guests to thank them personally. But on this occasion I would just like publicly to thank this lovely couple for staying with us and posting this great review. It is so wonderful to be able to open our doors post lock-down to welcoming guests again. I absolutely love my business and have really missed sharing their enjoyment of Crosswoodhill. One small factual correction... the original windows date from the 18th century, not the 17th! Geraldine
