As this is a 5* hotel we thought it would be fantastic however we were extremely disappointed especially as we had booked it for our 5th anniversary treat.
The bedroom was fantastic (as long as you like the bizarre!) but everything else was a real let down. They charge 20euro's for breakfast which is worth 5euro's and the restaurant was not open for the 2 days we were there. On our 1st night after a 6hour drive they booked us into a restaurant which was closed when we turned up!
It was also totally lacking in atmosphere. I think we were the only people staying there.
They advertise a spa which turned out to but nothing more than a jacuzzi.
How this hotel has the cheek to call itself a 5* and charge the prices that they do.
We had booked for 3 nights but left after 2. It was a total waste of money.
Would not recommend it.

We just returned from a long weekend at El Palacete. We wanted to love this hotel, but we would not recommend it to anyone.

It is a five star disappointed with a wacky and inflexible owner who runs the hotel as if she were doing her guests a favor allowing them to stay. The food is a let down (average pre-prepared food that is warmed up in the microwave), there is no restaurant or food service beyond scheduled breakfasts and dinners by appointment only (not even a sandwich or an apple, bring your own food if you want anything off hours) the service is inexperienced and the owner is off her rocker, scolding guests with threatening notes for leaving their suitcases on the floor vs. using the closet. (the last point is so ridiculous and bizarre that we actually got more of a laugh out of it than getting angry but I think you get the point).

The owner is the problem. She's a confused lady that wants to own a hotel but thinks it's her house and treats her guests...
