Large, pleasant and appealing pub with lots of different areas including a nice games room where we enjoyed playing pool. Easy to find off the main roads. Great craft beers with the encouragement to sample them. Food was variable. Our party was v happy with medium-rare steak and fish & chips but veggie cassoulet was disappointing at gastro pub prices.... More

There are lovely rooms, with nice furnitures, peaceful overview, very kind staff and excellent food in restaurant. Although after dinner we at 11pm we have not got warm water at all until next morning. Otherwise we have spent a really relaxing night together with my family. Thank you!

Our stay at the Derby Arms was Ok. We were surprised to find that our room had not been cleaned when we returned at 1.30pm. Our room was above the main door which banged every time someone came in or left.

We really liked this pub. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were nice with comfy beds and we loved the decor, lots of character not bland like some places. We took our dogs at no extra cost and there was no hassle. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. I cant really comment on the area... More

Room was fine and bed comfortable. Industrial size soap dispensers were not nice. Don't eat in pub. Food overpriced and waiter gets order wrong. Same sausages used at breakfast to evening meal. Beer at bar good selection. Staff not very welcoming. They did not seem to care.

When we arrived at the pub we were shown to the room by a very pleasant young man who didn't tell us anything about our stay (food times, breakfast, check out etc) the room is attractive but on closer view was inadequate to us. No shelves for toiletries, only plugs were behind the bed or behind the TV, nowhere near... More

Excellent location, about 20mins from the M6, and good views. The pub was busy as it was a Friday night but our room was reasonably quiet. Great service and food, and the Manager went out of his way to accommodate our requests. We stayed there with our toddler who slept in a travel cot provided by the hotel and would... More

We arrived around 7pm Friday for a 3 night stay at the Derby Arms. The pub was very busy as it was having a beer festival on the Saturday and the car park was closed off and there were around 20 cars parked all along the road, luckily someone moved from beside the pub and we squeezed in there. We... More

It's advertised as dog friendly so should have expected this. The place smells of dogs. Nice place with lots of cubbyhole areas, but service was a bit grumpy and stopped serving drinks at 1030 even though we were residents. Bizarrely the room had an open plan toilet! I know open plan is popular these days but give me some privacy! The... More

Spent the night before a hot air balloon flight in the morning. Had a fantastic evening meal and very relaxing stay. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. Only slight issue was the massive stain on the carpet in the room which was a bit off putting even though everywhere was very clean, it was unsightly.
