Luxury rooms and spa. Friendly, polite and supportive staff. Fabulous atmosphere with good services. High quality fine dining restaurant with great wine list. The head of the restaurant was ready to talk about the wines telling us some own stories. First time have been there but not last.

Hotel's Favorite
I've stayed in this hotel twice-in 2018 and in 2022. It is simply gorgeous and I can state that from a position of a quite a picky traveller and guest. We had deluxe room with my husband and a 5* meals. It was during the week so the thermal caves worked just for us which was a bliss! Neglect the negative comments, unhappy people everywhere. The service is professional and friendly and June smells just so nice in Tarcal. Great wine tasting. Great terrace and garden. Great food and cleanness. Welcome drink-furmint wine. Great beds and beddings. The bathroom cosmetics was L'Occitane. The softest bathrobes. With my husband we were pleased.

Staff at reception did not wear masks despite governmental regulations related to indoors however they were nice. Breakfast & dinner deal is offered but dinner is served á la carte with roughly half of the dishes having extra charge assigned to them upon order. Dinner selection contains 1 starter - main course - dessert combo. For example steak dinner would cost an extra 6.000 HUF. Spa is nice however one of the evenings there was a private event after hours with very loud music which lasted until 11pm. It was disturbing even from our room.

We have spent a weekend first with my wife and we have fallen in love with the place so much that we went back with our sons the following week. The hotel itself is really smart, the staff is friendly and helpful. In addition the wellness is absolutely amazing. It is a good start for discovering the neighborhood, medieval castles in Füzèr, in Sàrospatak etc. Dinner is also a great experience here with excellent dishes and fabulous wines. We will go back for sure.

Our experience at this hotel was shocking. Aiming to arrive at 9pm on a Thursday evening, we were told we would have to take dinner in our room if we arrived any later than 9pm as the kitchen closes. We arrived at exactly 9pm and were the sole diners in the lower ground brightly lit, canteen restaurant set up for breakfast the next morning. Served by a very surly waitress who did not pour any drinks. At 945pm, a group of 15 guests arrived and were cordially invited for dinner! They were ‘part of a group’ as explained by our surly waitress so the kitchen was clearly not closed. We proceeded to be shown our room which was dark, small and only had twin beds when we explicitly asked for a double. The receptionist was unwilling to help and monosyllabic and we decided to leave the hotel that night without staying. The exterior of the hotel looks very promising but the whole ambience inside was run down and dark and leaves a lot to be desired. When we asked if we could go to the bar, we were told it was already closed despite it only being 940pm. The receptionist said the hotel was full so when we asked where everybody was and had they all already gone to bed, he replied without any irony: ‘I hope so’. A genuinely shocking experience.

We stayed here a couple of nights for a bit of spa and wine tasting. Our room was very spacious and nicely decorated. The restaurant staff were very professional. There wasn't much choice for food (especially if you're vegetarian) but what we had was tasty and nice. The spa and wellness was really pleasant with lots of saunas and small pool/jacuzzis. They have an extensive wine collection. All in all, it was a great stay. I would come back for the hotel; the village is not something I would want to see again.

This hotel is dirty and needs maintenance. The walls are dirty, rainwater seeps in at various places, both in the rooms and the stairwell and bar. The last day the bar was even closed due to a heavy rain shower. Appearantly the waiter was equally washed away. Various wellness installations no longer work or need to be descaled urgently. The service is very poor, problems are hardly ever solved. In short: this is by no means worthy of 5 stars, it does not meet any standard at all. A very disappointing experience!
