Absolutely wonderful B&B experience again! The setting is so peaceful. The breakfast options are varied and extremely generous. The hosts couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. There are Covid safety procedures in place but they're subtle and don't make the stay feel rigid or unusual. The rooms are lovely with spacious bathrooms and everything is clean. Will definitely be returning (again)!
The accommodation is faultless as really is the rest of Bell Green B&B.The area is tranquil, although does get very busy in holiday season. It shows that Ann and Steve are very experienced in running a place that makes people feel at home . I took my dog with me and she was made to feel very much at home. I would not hesitate to return and I am sure people will sing their praises.parking there is a great bonus and as Ann and Steve are local they have a wealth of local knowledge if you need advice. It would be a great place to convalesce should you need to.
I genuinely believe that words can’t do justice for the level of service and perfection that Anne, Steve and their daughter Hattie brought to our holiday; but I’ll try... Firstly the rooms. Spotless and comfortable, with some very thoughtful finishing touches which included wine glasses and local soaps, and shower products. The level of cleanliness is second to none, and makes you feel guilty for going in your room with your shoes on! And incredibly they are dog friendly too! The beds are very comfortable, and the bedding is super high quality. Breakfast. Flawless! It was such high quality, from the sausages to the smoked Haddock, the beans to eggs (however you wanted them). It truly sets you up for the day! The attention to detail to every aspect, makes it one of the best breakfasts you’ll get anywhere in the lakes! Even if I wasn’t staying there, I’d want to come for breakfast! The hosts. Anne and Steve are the most welcoming of people you could wish to meet. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they are incredibly helpful and kind. My car broke down whilst we were there, and Steve couldn’t have been more helpful in ensuring that it didn’t spoil or holiday too much. And if it weren’t for him and his tractor, the RAC would have had no chance in recovering it! Anne is super helpful, and gives you some great advice on places to visit; we went to Muncaster castle on her recommendation and had a great time! We can’t recommend this place enough, and we will be returning for a break in the autumn/winter. Thank you for our stay!…
We stayed here for one night on a short visit to the Lake District. It is an old farmhouse (Beatrix Potter once stayed here) just a few minutes walk away from the village centre, pub and Beatrix Potter's house (NT). There are also good walks directly from the hotel, it is a short walk up the lane past the hotel to Eccles Tarn, one of Beatrix Potter's haunts. We had a twin room which was comfortable and spacious with views across the large garden and village below. There was wifi in the lounge area downstairs but in the bedroom it was to weak to use. Good cooked breakfast with range of choices and fresh coffee. The proprietors were friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
Ann and Steve are always very welcoming. Location is very quiet and it is five minutes walk to the local pub.Breakfast is superb. We brought our dog and this worked out very well. Walks around Near Sawrey have great views. Have re-booked for a visit in the spring.
