Stayed one night here. Lovely comfortable bed with lovely linen and very warm. Downstairs room, a little small with our suitcases but bathroom area is quite large so put bags in there. A little bit of noise with people upstairs due to wooden nature of house. Best breakfast had in a long time. Lovely fresh muffins, devine yogurt, plenty of chatter and information. Very hospitable and chatty people. Love the dog too. Happy to recommend this place.

Marjery and Russell are just lovely, generous, kind folks! They treated us very well and left us to ourselves to potter and relax. Russell makes a great coffee and Marjery is magic in the kitchen for full breakfast spread. Room was fairly small tho private bathroom spacious and very clean. Our only comment is the nature of sharing a wooden cabin type home is particularly creaky with guests walking about and using the bathroom from above - absolutely recommend for a stop over on your travels - thanks Russell and Majery for sharing your home with us.

Russell and Margery are two of the nicest people you're likely to meet in New Zealand. We felt so welcomed and couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more than we did. They shared lots of information about their local area and New Zealand generally. The breakfast (particularly the muffins) were delicious. The local area is charming with plenty of walking for all levels of fitness. We walked to the top of Pourangahau and would thoroughly recommend it. The nearby lake is simply stunning. We'd go back to St Arnaud House B&B with no hesitation.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in April just after an unexpected cold snap and a snowfall so we arrived in St Arnaud and it was freezing cold but we walked inside the B&B and there was a lovely open fireplace which warmed us up. Russell and Marjorie made us feel so welcome and it was lovely to chat at breakfast with them both. The two cats and dog were all so affectionate and loved their cuddles. Marjorie kindly let us use her washing machine and we dried our clothes in front of the fireplace. Room was great but was a little cold but comfortable bed and amazing breakfast that Marjorie made for us the next day. Visited Mt Robert which Marjorie recommended and did a couple of bush walks which we enjoyed. Loved this town and would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting St Arnaud. Hopefully one day we can return.
