Spent seven nights at Carpe Diem for my wife’s 60th birthday and overall it was a memorable stay. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of local wine and Canape while we checked in. The room (Alba suite) was well appointed with nice furnishings and comfortable bed, outside the large balcony had high quality seating and sun loungers and the plunge pool was clean and inviting although quite cold. Only criticism of the room was no USB sockets or smart phone dock and no portable blue tooth speaker, so if you want some music on the balcony or round plunge pool remember to pack one. The property itself is beautiful, great views where you get sunrise and sunset with the North facing aspect, drawback to this is the incessant prevailing wind. Breakfast is of a high standard although if you stick to the inclusive options it does become repetitive and the A le carte options seem oddly expensive seeing they use essentially same ingredients. There is an out of place (temporary I would hope) structure to take breakfast in which just about does the trick to shelter you from the wind, but worryingly flexes and shifts as the wind gusts. Pygros and the rest of island is amazing, some of the best views we have experienced on all of our travels Fira and Oia are spectacular but very busy. Getting round the island in taxi is expensive cant get anywhere for less tat 40 euros and the mood based pricing on everything is quite amusing once you accept the practice. Be prepared to pay significantly more for any activity at the point of payment compared to the quoted price just accept and enjoy the comical reasoning. Worse we had was a wine tour which miraculously doubled in price. All said an incredibly beautiful island and Carpe Diem is a lovely property…
We stayed at carpe diem for our honeymoon. Amazing view with top services. The hotel is at 5 minutes by foot to pyrgos village. We will come again for sure. We are very happy that we choosed carpe diem
Hotel Carpe Diem was the highlight of our honeymoon vacation. From the moment we arrived, when the gate swung open and we were greeted by Sophia and the hotel staff, we knew we were going to be well taken care of. We had been in communication since 2020 when we were originally planning on taking our trip, but because of the pandemic we had wait two years, and the entire time we were impressed with the care and attention in every email we exchanged. The suite we stayed in was the size of our apartment and beautifully kept, while the expansive views from the private plunge pool on our terrace were stunning. It was peaceful and quiet and oh so relaxing. Especially the day when we enjoyed a wonderful couples massage in our suite. We loved the made to order breakfast by the pool, delivered with warm and welcome service every morning. We had asked for some recommendations for where to dine and Sophia graciously booked us reservations at some of the best spots in Pyrgos, which did not disappoint. The attention to detail and small gestures of appreciation (welcome wine by the pool, and a bottle of prosecco in our suite) made our stay so memorable. The nights we had the pleasure of staying were truly an experience to remember. We hope to come back and visit again soon.…
We have stayed at Carpe Diem four times and will continue to go back. Our first time back since pre-pandemic and everything is still exceptional. The staff are fantastic, Sotiris, Sofia and their team are wonderfully welcoming, efficient, helpful and have a great attitude. The location is wonderful, with amazing views away from the bustle of Oia and Fira, Pyrgos is much quieter but has all of the charm and fantastic restaurants. The food at Carpe Diem is also always top notch. The rooms are simple but beautiful, light and airy and all with their own pool and sunset view. Everything about Carpe Diem is fantastic, it has a very private exclusive feel and a calming relaxed atmosphere, which is why we continue to go back time after time. One piece of advice, if you are of limited mobility you may struggle to walk in to Pyrgos as the road in to the hotel is very steep, but the whole of Santorini is full of steps and slopes and little uneven paths so be prepared to do lots of walking and bring comfortable shoes if you want to explore. Flat sandals are definitely needed for going out!…
We are an elderly couple staying here for four nights on a holiday celebrating 50 years of marriage. The situation is spectacular looking down towards the sea, and the hotel is delightfully quiet, exceptionally well appointed, very clean and with lovely staff. In particular the breakfast lady - Johanna. Very efficient, pleasant and cheerful, and another young man who helped my husband with his mobility issues. The food in the restaurant is very good although rather expensive. Were it not for mobility issues we would probably have rung the changes with eating, as there are many restaurants in the village. Unfortunately you need to be quite mobile as there is a steep climb up from outside the hotel to the main road. Maybe the hotel should put on some sort of shuttle service to get people up and down. All that said it is a gorgeous place to stay if you want peace and quiet and a good rest. I certainly feel rejuvenated…
We stayed for 10 days with the view to totally chill out. Carpe Diem is the ideal place to do this with quiet surroundings, great location and your own little bit of Santorini with your own suite, veranda and pool. Each day we would have breakfast, travel out to a location on the Island, bit of lunch and then back to Carpe Diem to relax, enjoy the afternoon sun, dip in the pool and then watch the famous sun sets. We had a great break, recharged the batteries and got to see a beautiful Island. Many Thanks John & Sian Jones
hoi everyone, i can only recommend this beautiful hotel suit in santorini. thank you staff, the best staff i have seen, i love you all. we'll see each other again if not again this year, next year for sure. greeting AK
Carpe Diem is a beautiful hotel with no detail spared. The rooms are very large, beds are very comfortable, the private pool and lounge areas for each room are also first class. The view you receive from your room and the main hotel area and extremely hard to beat. The free bottle of sparkling wine, arrival drink and restaurant credit are a really nice touch for a luxury boutique hotel. With only 11 suites and a private, gated entrance, it gives a very secluded/exclusive feel. Finally, the service was top notch. The staff will coordinate whatever you want to do or need during (or before) your stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to couples who appreciate the luxury, boutique feel.
We stayed here for 7 nights as part of our honeymoon and had a fabulous time. The rooms and views are beautiful, and everything we ate and drank was delicious! The location is a little out of the way, which was perfect for us, but there are lots of lovely restaurants near by in the village its just a bit of a steep walk up the hill outside the hotel. Having visited Oia and Fira, I have to say Pyrgos is equally beautiful and much less busy! Couple of little things niggles while we were there, there seemed to be bits of maintenance work happening like paint touch ups and pool cleaning, which is not a problem but we didn't expect these to being down on our private terrace while we were out meaning we couldn't use the pool when we returned. Also the spa facilities are really expensive, and while the sauna was good, there is no steam room and the hydrotherapy pool is cold (its meant to be, but still!). Wpuld have expected a 5 star hotel to allow access included in the price. The onsite restaurant is fantastic and breakfast was delicious and the staff were helpful. I would recommend a visit!…
A truly wonderful experience. The attentiveness of all the staff, the amazing food, the luxury of the room and facilities and the arranged massage and day trip were all of the highest quality. And above all, the view. We just spent most of the day relaxing, taking it in and enjoying the peace. Can't wait to come back one day
