If you go to Santorini, stay in Pyrgos, if you go to Pyrgos stay at Estate 1896 Suites. Absolutely fabulous. Costas met us on arrival, created the most amazing itinerary for our time on Santorini, organised a hire car for us and gave us lots of helpful tips on timings for going into Oia and Fira. At the end of day wandering through Pyrgos was so lovely and watching the sun set and eating at one of the many lovely restaurants close by.

The host and Owner Konstantinos and his wife Yana were amazing. Our flight was diverted to Athens due to heavy winds and we could not land in Santorini. A transfer had already been booked and was waiting for us at the airport. They rescheduled everything when we arrived 8 hours later. The host also upgrading our Sea View suite to a brand new 2 bedroom suit. It was amazing. Throughout our stay they assisted with transfers, car hire reservations, recommended where to go, where to eat, always made sure our suit was cleaned daily by Liza who did a sterling job.
I am 6 months pregnant therefore all extra hospitality made a real big difference. Pyrgos is an amazing place to visit and stay. Away from the hustle which you find in Fira and Oia. It is only 15 minutes away car drive from Fira and 25 minutes drive from Oia. All the 3 main beaches are only 15 minutes away by car. You may also walk to them. We avoided due to the heat and my pregnancy.

This beautiful hotel is located a few hundred meters off the main square in Pyrgos, which is a much more tranquil and less touristy experience than most other places on the island. Our room was essentially a suite with two rooms connected through an open portal with a sofa and small kitchen in one. The bedroom was large with a comfortable bed, and the place was clean when we arrived. There was a mix-up with our room when we got there early, but this was resolved very quickly. The owners sent us a list of ideas for our stay via WhatsApp, which was very nice. There are nice outdoor areas here as well, which we didn’t use as it was either hot or we were off exploring. Parking can be tricky in town, but we often found a space in the lot next door or down a nearby street. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent 10 days in this wonderful place. Host and staff were super friendly and helpful, gave a lot of recommendations what to do and where to eat, helped to organize boat tour and transfer to the airport. Place was super clean and cozy, including confortable bed, bathroom amenities (towels, shampoo, soap..), good AC and tasty breakfast, just 5 minute by foot to main square where bus station is, market, restaurants, bakery. Apartment has a terrace with beautiful view to the sea, very nice to spend there an evening with a glass of local wine. Could not be more happy about host, suite and vacations in Santorini.

Me and my family arrived to the villa after our ferry ride and very warmly greeted by the owners. They are the nicest and helpful people. The maid Lisa deserves 10 Stars for her great service. She even ironed and washed our laundry! Will be back

Excellent suites, at the heart of Pyrgos village. Great base to explore Santorini’s attractions. Next to the hotel there are very nice traditional restaurants and coffe shops. The hotel is sparkling clean and the owner is very attentive and helpful. Don’t miss the excellent breakfast served to your source.

We stayed in this beautiful estate for our week-long honeymoon in Santorini, and we couldn’t have been happier with the hospitality of the property manager, Christos. He upgraded us not only once, but twice! We booked the Junior Suite, but we got a complimentary upgrade to the Honeymoon Villa for some 3 nights and then to the Master Suite due to some unforeseen circumstances with the Junior Suite. He was such a great host, always friendly and willing to help! The location of the Estate itself is very close to the main square of Pyrgos, not even 5 minutes walk, with fantastic restaurants, local bakery shop and super markets that stay open till late in the evening. The rooms we stayed in where spot on clean with functioning heating and air-conditioning, very tastefully decorated and furnished, beds were very comfortable and there were no sounds to be heard from outside.
Great value for the money spent!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in the gorgeous little town of Pyrgos. Our beautiful and spacious suite here was the perfect place to relax after exploring the ruinous and romantic labyrinth leading to Pyrgos castle. Our stay was made extra special by the amazing hosting by Christos, the warmest welcome we had during our holiday - we felt quite sad to leave him! This is a perfect place to stay if you’d prefer to visit rather than stay in the chaos which is Oia or Firá. If you hire a car, you won’t get a better base to explore Santorini from. Definitely our favourite spot on the island.

This is a great place to stay for any trip to Santorini and I highly, highly, highly, recommend. I will put the key points in bullets and then elaborate further below.
- Christos (the host) is absolutely amazing - Estate 1896 is in a great location of the village - The hotel is clean and beautiful - Pyrgos is a great village that doesn't get the recognition it deserves
Upon arriving at the hotel you will be greeted warmly by Christos, the host of the hotel. Christos was great throughout the stay and on more than one occasion went above and beyond our expectations. He certainly made our stay very special and we are all very happy we had the chance to meet him.
This hotel is situated right at the beginning of the village of Pyrgos, on the main road. Scheduling private transports to and from the hotel was a breeze and affordable with the help of Nikos (the owner) and Christos. It is an easy walk to multiple restaurants, the main stairs to the top of the village, ATV rentals, and an amazing true Greek bakery. If you are coming to witness the amazing Orthodox Christian Holy Friday procession in the village the hotel roof offers an unparalleled view of the event.
The hotel, which used to be a winery, was beautiful. The room was big and spacious and came with its own outdoor area to sit and enjoy the sun. Also, there is a beautiful garden with great views where Christos serves breakfast. Also, everything was very clean and comfortable.
The village, Pyrgos, is generally less well known and is a great place to stay in Santorini away from the more crowded villages (Oia and Fira). It is less crowded because it is not directly on the coastline but the "feel" of the village is more authentic and still has amazing views. It is also in a great location to serve as a "base" for your Santorini vacation. It is a very short trip to the Island's monastery (best view on Island), multiple wineries, the ferry port, the airport, Perivolos (black sand beach), and Fira.
Highly, highly recommend.

Hi. There is no swimming pool. If you want a beach nearby, you have to choose Kamari village or Perissa. Yes, you can rent a quad bike or car, similar price per day... Cars are mainly manual...
There are more places to choose from in the Pyrgos area.
