I really hate giving a less than stellar review of a hotel where the staff were welcoming and charming, but I want to be honest. It is a lovely, quiet hotel on a side street, not far from the piazza and the sea. It is easy to find by walking, but because of one-way streets and streets that don’t go through, it was not easy to navigate. We had heavy luggage, so I asked for a first floor room, as there is no elevator. The room was very tired. We love old ambience, but this room did not have quaint, antique charm. My husband said he saw nicer rooms but we did not have one. The air conditioning did not work. We were told they were going to fix it, but did not while we were there. It was good we had a strong overhead fan. The shower tiles were clean, but did not look it, as they must have been original. The building was a beautiful one, but the interior was not well decorated for the elegance of the building. The breakfast was basic and not indicative of the other four star hotels we stayed in. The pictures on the travel sites are deceiving. We have stayed in beautiful hotels in Marina di Ragusa and wanted to try this. I have no idea how it got a 4 star rating because our experience was of a 2 star. As I said, the proprietors are lovely, so was housekeeping, but they need to think about fixing it up. It was costlier than some of the nicer ones. We will choose one of the others next time.…
When we arrived everybody was nice. When we got the room, I found out the water in the sink wasn’t go down. I asked the reception girl to check and repair WHILE I WILL BE OUT. I returned after 40min, nothing was repaired. She said me stupid answers like: housekeeper was busy, I was busy but now I can go with you and help you.... Then she asked again my passport because she didn’t FIND THE BIRTHDATE, date of issue she found but birthdate didn’t find!!!!! I asked what floor would be my room she said the first. BUT WE HAD TO GO UPSTAIRS WITH BIG BAGS AND NOONE HELPED. Sooo don’t gooo there !!!!! Photo is attached
My wife and I stayed here for 10 days in the second part of September. “Maison de Charme” is a very suitable description as the hotel was exactly that, perfectly charming! From the greeting we received on our somewhat late arrival to the sad farewells on our last morning we had an absolutely delightful stay at La Moresca. The hotel itself has a lovely character and is very pleasant and comfortable. It’s best feature, however, is undoubtedly the people who work there. They work together like a family and you are immediately made to feel like a part of that family. Fabrizio, the excellent hotel manager; Rosella, Sofia and Oriana, who were all so helpful and friendly on the reception desk; Alessandro and Elisa, who prepared breakfast in the morning and aperitifs in the evening; Laura and Maria, the housekeepers who kept the hotel looking immaculate – all of these individuals made staying at La Moresca a joy. Thank you all!!…
My husband and I spent 2 beautiful weeks in Sicily in early September and we traveled to Marina di Ragusa early in our trip. We had the most beautiful few days at La Moresca. The location of this beautiful boutique hotel is perfect as it was a short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and the town square. In addition to the location, what is truly most memorable are Fabrizio and his team. Upon meeting them, they instantly felt like family. So warm and helpful, I didn't want to leave. As for the hotel itself, it is beautiful with it's high ceilings and thoughtful pieces of Italian ceramics and we truly enjoyed the welcome wine and cheese "party" our first night as well as the breakfast where we met many others from all over the world who were staying at the hotel. Finally, my husband loved playing his guitar each night out on our private terrace. Thank you for a beautiful time in Marina di Ragusa!…
Stunning hotel, great location, really lovely nice people! Fabrizio and his team are super relaxed and nice, yet are on top of everything and run a tight ship! Highly recommend for a seamless experience!
As soon as we arrived we knew we were in good hands. Sophia on reception gave us a broad smile and instantly the tiring all day journey from Gatwick vanished. This small Hotel with courtyards and flowers proved to be a perfect base. We were shown to our room on the second floor. Great firm bed, powerful shower and plenty of space to unpack properly . The only tiny criticism was that the air conditioning was not all that efficent. Breakfast exceeded our expectations and was served in one of the courtyards. Plenty of choise and everything fresh and , as with everything else at this Hotel served with a smile. The sandy beach and centre of town a 2 minute walk and within 30/40 minutes drive of the World's Heritage cities of Ragusa,Modica and Scicli
While traveling in Sicily with my family we spent a few days at La moresca maison de charme Marina di Ragusa. The resort is in a great location. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was a lovely and relaxing stay. I can’t say enough about our host Denise! She was wonderful! Her English was very good! She gave us great suggestions on traveling and places to shop and eat. She always has a smile and willing to help us. Everyone there was very friendly and I would return.
We came by sailboat from Malta to Marina di Ragusa and spent a night in this lovely charming hotel. The service was so kind and the breakfast in a small backyard very good. We highly recommend this place. Shops and Restaurants are withing walking distance. There is also a Spar supermarked at the end of the road up the hill on the right side.
What a charming little hotel, with a small number of elegant, simple rooms that echo a grand house of the past. High ceilings, a beautiful small courtyard and a relaxing breakfast area serving a good selection of goodies. But what sets this apart is the charming host, the friendly team, the attentive guidance about local places of interest and the very short walk to an excellent gently sloping sandy beach. Don't miss the promenade of the locals on a late summers evening... They provide towels and umbrellas for the beach too! One word of advice, park your car in any available spot, hand over your keys and see the car transported to a vacant spot nearby. We will hopefully be back to explore more of the local towns (Ragusa was well worth the trip!)
This hotel is lovely, nice rooms, great service, very friendly and professional owner, good breakfast. But it is definitely too expensive for what you get and mostly for the area it is in. Marina has become a mass tourism middle class place full of young people and families from Italy spending their summer there. The beaches in walking distance are crowded and not super nice, need to take the car and drive somewhere more quiet. Maybe off the main season it's a good place to go, definitely not in August. And still the price is too high then..
