Admittedly it was a whistle-stop whilst en route to Beacons National Park (had to leave well before brekkie). However the room was very well-priced for my son and I, the welcome was warm and the bar extremely inviting on a winter's night. Price of beer astounding compared to S-E England prices! Wished I didn't have such an early start. Yes,...

Booked here as it was near to the homes of relatives we had lost touch with. On first sight, not very impressive with an abandoned car in one corner of the car park. On entering the premises it was rather cold, however, on our arrival, they turned the heating on and we soon warmed up. Our welcome and the way...

Franky this is not a very good hotel by most measures but - it is a lovely place to stay. Why - it is the warmth of the family who run it. I have marked it average but in terms of feeling good and happy where you lay your head it is - EXCELLENT. Wonderful breakfast, supper for just £3.50...

Same as last year. Room was slightly smaller than last year. Served its purpose as somewhere to sleep. Lovely evening meal which was great value. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Great service. Will be back next year.

Young family coming from London 2nd year running. Fantastic value for money, lovely food, try the lamb shank! evening and breakfast both splendid. Great entertainment both times we went. Adequate shower, very comfy bed. The whole place has a very welcoming atmosphere. Would defiantly recommend for a relaxing place to rest your tired feet after trekking about the Brecon Beacons!

We stayed recently as we had a family engagement to attend, my mum is disabled and the initial room we were offered would have meant a difficult trip up 2 flights of stairs when I mentioned this the owner straight away changed my room to a lower floor with great facilities, we were also allowed to eat in our rooms...

Perhaps if you've read the reviews and happy to stay here at around £40 per night it might be OK. If not, its a bit of a shock to turn up to. Very tired looking place with pretty rough rooms. We stayed in November and arrived back, after eating out, at around 9pm to find our rooms were icy cold....

Always friendly, excellent quality on the drink, I have eaten there on numerous occasions, family groups and individual. I have never had a bad meal or pint. Locals that drink there are very friendly and are always up for a laugh 😁

Spent one night at this olde worlde Welsh Pub between Methyr and Abergavenny. The rooms are clean and comfortable if a little tired but cannot be beaten for the price. The food served in the pub/restaurant is incredibly good value and the food was cooked to perfection with plenty of choice. Lots of lovely knick-knacks to give it plenty of...

Staff very friendly on arrival and all through our stay. Food very good, ate here both nights of our stay. Breakfast plentiful. Rooms very clean even if a bit dated. Locals were very friendly. Great stay would stay again if in the area.
