Stayed here just for the night as was visiting the area and stayed in their B&B. The places is laid back and offers a lovely peaceful stay. If you are looking for an escape to the country break look no further, with the little to no phone coverage you truly escape the world.

We stayed in The Old Brewhouse on the Glynhir Estate and thought the location was lovely for a quiet Autumn half-term break - especially with no WiFi in the Cottage and poor cell coverage. First view of cottage (and the Estate as a whole) was just right for what we were looking for - quaint, old fashioned and full of...

Just spent a great couple of nights here in the Stable Flat. On the downside there were a few glitches... For example the heating broke down. However we were given more wood for the fire and an electric heater, so it wasn't too bad, and Katy gave us quite a hefty discount to make up for it. That all being...

What an absolutely delightful stay at the glynhir estate. Our family stayed at the baliffs cottage for seven nights and enjoyed every minute. The children made friends, The adults made friends, the doggies also made friends. I can only hope that we manage to book again next year to do it all over again. The children entertained themselves without an...

Stayed in the Old Brewhouse for a wedding on a blustery wet October weekend. After reading some of the reviews was apprehensive as to what to expect - should not have worried. On entering the property which was a thick stone walled cottage, was hit by overwhelming heat which was very welcome on a cold wet evening. There were seven...

We stayed in the bayliffs cottage and I would not recommended. The house was damp and therefore smelly. The furnishings are very old. The only bathroom with a shower is ensuite in one of the rooms so is not great if you are staying with friends. When I opened my bag at home after the stay all my clothes smelled...

Enjoyed my stay here. All as one would expect for a quiet country b&b. There was only one disappointment in the somewhat saggy bed. Breakfast was good. Owners polite and pleasant. Wonderfully quiet. Free WiFi which is good for is tech geeks with not so wonderful cell coverage.

Stayed in the B & B, the room was spacious, the bathroom immense and the country setting was really relaxing. There's a waterfall on their site! They do an excellent breakfast and they make their own jams (they sell them too - if you can't get enough of them). My only regret was only staying one night. I could have...

Very attractive house in lovely grounds. Large bedroom with small shower room. Room rather sparsely furnished without any tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Lots of lovely soft towels and a big bed with crisp linen. Downstairs there was tea and coffee in the sitting room but needed replenishing. Breakfast was very well cooked and generous. Home made...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Time slips by just as it always has done at Glynhir. For decades, the estate has welcomed guests of all kinds – families, artist groups, tourists – who return again and again to a place where the days seem to pass that bit slower. Guests can while away hours on end by simply sitting out with a mug of coffee in the tree filled garden with its ornamental canal, setting an easel up to capture the views of the rugged Black Mountains, or curling up with a book in front of the open fire in the 17th century mansion. A short stroll takes you around the cobbled farmyard among free roaming peacocks, chickens, geese and ducks, or down to the River Loughor with its 30ft waterfall for the exclusive enjoyment of guests. This is all before you’ve ventured beyond Glynhir’s 220 acres into the Brecon Beacons National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with enough valleys and vistas to satisfy the keenest walkers.AboutGlynhir is located two miles from the village of Llandybie, between the towns of Ammanford and Llandeilo, and just ten miles from the end of the M4. Its name ‘glyn hir’ means ‘long valley’ and describes the way the mansion was built on a plateau above a seven mile long wooded gorge at the foot of the Black Mountains.Glynhir offers both B&B in the 17th century mansion and self catering accommodation in six historic cottages. ... more   less
