Unfortunately, there weren't enough of them! We were unable to order drinks with dinner - we had to go through to the bar to get them and bring them back to our table. That said, the staff who were there were very good, especially the waitress from Ardnamurchan. The location is lovely and although parts of the hotel were a bit tired, we really felt it offered good value for money.
Stayed at The Morar Hotel, with fantastic views, close to the beach as well. It is an old building, in need of repair, especially inside. However, the main issue was the cleanliness of the room. I found heaps of sand inside the wardrobe, hair, and filth stuck at the bath filter, and the worst: nail clippings on the nightstand. That did it for me! Also, the rugs were dirty, the bathroom floor needed a wash, inside and outside the windows were dirty. I am a seasoned traveller, and I am easy going but this level of dirt in Scotland-not some hidden away location, is not good!
The room we were allocated was not represented on any of the photos on the web site. The furniture in the room was a mismatch and also where a bedside table should have been there was a small dirty stool instead. We had to clean all the surfaces in the room as they were stained and dirty. The bathroom tiles and grout were filthy and also had mildew growing on them ,the silicone around the bath badly needed replaced as it was black with mildew. The extractor fan was broken and only one of the downlights was working. The shower curtain was also dirty with mildew and needed replaced and the curtain rail was broken.
We booked the Morar Hotel on an deal for three nights with a sea view. The room was lovely with a beautiful view. Comfortable bed and great shower with hot water. It was very clean and met all COVID guidelines. We ate in the hotel every night and the food was fabulous. I have a dietary requirement and the chef adapted all my meals. Breakfast was good too with lots of choice. They could do with another staff member on toast. The staff were all very friendly and hardworking! . Drinks from the bar were reasonable and we had a lovely time. A visit to the Silver Sands is essential. There is an excellent little museum in Mallaig by the station and a free museum in Arisaig is worth a visit.
Booked the morar hotel on a whim as my cousin was there last week and got the dates wrong lol But they accommodated us for the night but couldn't for the Saturday as it was full Had dinner and was very nice as usual I tried the scallops and black pudding scallops perfectly cooked
