I recently reviewed this hotel after a disastrous experience staying here, but I was contacted by New management asking me to take down my review as it was going through a revamp to get the hotel back to the way it should be and that the last few comments had been more positive and obviously mine was very negative etc....

We did not stay in the hotel as we were on self catering in Balfron but we ate here twice. The young charming lad who runs the restaurant (I believe his name is Scot) was very helpful and friendly so we went back. The food was very good both lunch time and dinner. Killearn is a lovely wee village close...

We got a great deal for bed and breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable and the evening meal and the breakfast we had were very good. The staff were very good and the village is very nice and quiet. Will return.

Staff very welcoming. Recently taken over, so still some things needing sorted. Great atmosphere, room nice and cosy. Staff work hard and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Decor needs a freshen up in the rooms/hallway. But I believe they will get there. Great value for money.

I had read previous reviews (after I booked) and was not too kean to go, but was pleasantly surprised when I found most things contradictory to the reviews. We were warmly welcomed by the manageress Emma, who booked us in, we went up...
