We stayed here for our anniversary & it was largely wonderful. We did the overnight spa stay

I emailed a few days before & the very kind receptionist Pamela upgraded us to a suite. It was incredible, really big with a separate lounge area, a big bedroom & a huge bathroom with a really deep bath. Unfortunately the heating broke & we had to be moved, it was a shame & i was completely gutted. However Michael & Pamela were incredible. Got us moved to a room that was away from the wedding & Christmas party. Such a shame & did have an impact but they definitely helped us make the best of a bad situation

The spa was incredible-Jess was incredible. Honestly made the whole experience fantastic
The dinner, it was so nice. I couldn’t fault it at all. I had curried cod & it was so good. I would recommend it for sure
The gin was local & really delicious, the guy at the spa recommended a different tonic to me
The spa was really well lovely, obviously brand new. Only fault was the lack of bed, only had 5 with about 20 people in there was bit odd. Otherwise faultless & so so beautiful

This will seem ridiculous but the level of cheese was too much on the pizza. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it
We wanted a G&T in the relaxing room upstairs which was okay but not in a room that was slightly mood lighting in case we dropped the glass-very strange
The security guard by the reception was plain rude, almost shouting at someone who worked there & then pushed my husband out of the way. Considering how amazing all the other staff were it was really out of place

We used this hotel to meet up for a family get together. We were greeted at reception by a very friendly team so had plenty of time to walk around the grounds before dinner. Really very pretty, even on a cool autumn afternoon. We had an outside room, quirky but beautiful setting and very comfy bed. Dinner was lovely, service very efficient and food hot and tasty and breakfast had plenty of choice. We added afternoon tea after checkout as no one was in a rush to leave. Didn't use the spa as forgot swimwear, maybe they should sell some, but staff showed us around as we may come back and try it as great value for money and location for our family meet up.

My husband booked us a surprise night away for my 40th birthday on Saturday night. On arrival we were greeted by very polite and pleasant staff but then it went down hill very quickly!
We had been allocated a room away from the hotel which was disappointing and nothing better than a Premier Inn (we paid just over £100 for the night). We were then told they had a wedding on and that we couldn’t use the bar and placed us in a little room alone. We were looking forward to using the pool and having a lovely meal in the restaurant which we were then told ‘sorry, fully booked for dinner and if you want to use the pool it’s an extra £59! My husband also requested a bottle of Prosecco to be placed in the room for our arrival and made it clear it was for my 40th birthday... his request was ignored. He was bitterly disappointed and really felt he had let me down as that was not what he had booked.
So basically we couldn’t use the bar, pool, have our requests met and ended up having to find somewhere local to get something to eat and something to do as we did not feel welcome at the hotel.
When we returned to the hotel we had to mix with the guests of the wedding to try and get a drink whilst getting disapproving looks from weddings guests as if we’d gatecrashed their wedding. Had to sit amongst tables covered in half eaten plates of food and what was an absolute mess!
I really felt sorry for all my husbands attempts at making my birthday special as Ringwood Hall ruined it all. We were made to feel like complete second class citizens and that we were in the way.
We won’t be returning and certainly won’t be recommending. Thank you Ringwood for a disastrous 40th birthday.

arrived at Ringwood Hall on Friday evening, the reception staff were very nice, we were directed to our room. we stayed in a standard double room. with coffee facilities and a wide screen t'v.
there are no plug sockets by the bed and the sockets that are there (two by the television, one for the kettle and one by the end of the bed) where not near the mirrors, when i'm drying, curling or straightening my hair i need to be able to see. i found myself doing a bit blind then going to check in the mirror by the door. the sockets were too far away to even stretch my gadgets over. with no mirror near the desk i found i had to kneel in front of the tall mirror to put my make up , the mirror in the bathroom over the sink gave me no where to balance my things.
there were no toiletries in the room when we arrived not even soap and it took two phone calls to get them to bring us some as well as an extra towel( we only had one).
the waiting staff were all friendly and polite but the meal itself fell very short, none of my party enjoyed the meal.
the super king-size bed was very comfortable as were the pillows and the heavy drapes meant i slept really well. the following morning they had ensured that we were all able to breakfast together on a large round table. i've never known this before and it was a really nice touch.
breakfast was the usual selection you'd except, we had a full pot of coffee and tea on our table and weren't hurried in anyway to eat and leave.
i can't comment on the spa as i just didn't have time to go and enjoy them.
i was left feeling a bit 50/50. i didn't have a terrible stay but i wouldn't bust a gut to go again.

Attended a wedding here and booked a room. The staff were lovely, caring and attentive. Food was really good and the event rooms are stunning and atmospheric. Breakfast was lovely too. We were warned when checking in our allocated room was opposite another wedding party and might be a bit noisy. Now I can cope with a bit of noise as I can generally sleep through medium noise however the music was so loud in the room at 11:00pm that it was as though we had our own private DJ in the room and it was vibrating. I rang reception at 11:30 and spoke to a lovely man who was unable to do anything to move us (they were really nice) as the hotel was at capacity. I just wish the hotel had rang me 24 hours before. As we would of just cancelled the room made other arrangements to get there and got a taxi home instead. If it not been the fact we had our car there I would have walked out at this point. We perserved and thankfully the music stopped at 12:30am it was quiet by 1am. Realistically this room, 118 should not be bookable if there is a loud event on in the room opposite as paying to sleep in a disco is not my idea of a relaxing nights sleep. Shame as it's a lovely hotel with great staff but left me in tears.

Please accept our profuse apologies that you were unable to enjoy a relaxing good nights sleep after you had so clearly had a really enjoyable day with the wedding party . This particular room would generally be allocated to a wedding guest attending a wedding in the adjacent Coach House Suite as it would be anticipated that there would be no disturbance if you were in the party itself . A mistake was made with the allocation of your room for which we do apologise most sincerely . On a brighter note it was lovely to read so many positive aspects of your review , most particularly in respect of the food quality , the presentation of the rooms and the care and attention provided by the team .

Hi, No I am afraid we no longer have a swimming pool at the hotel, this was closed in November 2017, to make way for Derbyshire's first ever 5 bubble luxury spa. The new Garden Secret Spa is on site and opened in June... More
