First of many visits I hope! We stayed in the Fowey room on the ground floor of the annexe. Very happy with the room, comfortable bed, good quality pillows and bedlinen, lovely fluffy towels and good quality toiletries. TV and WiFi. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who was a mine of information regarding the local area. We slept... More

We stayed here a year ago, and would have definitely scored it as "5". We came back because of that, but were not so impressed this time. As you'll gather from other reviews, it's a bit quirky, and therefore splits opinions. The room we had on both visits was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. What made... More

It is sometimes difficult to comment as the review overall isn't bad. I think you are being unfair to the new chef because last year the menu hardly changed throughout the year. Simon has made changes and generally they have gone down very well as you will note on this website and sites like Booking.com. Your comment regarding our rating... More

This hotel had good reviews so we gave it a try on the way home from St Ives. It looks well enough from the exterior and there is plenty of parking. Our room was in a cottage annexe but unluckily for us, our experience was not a good one. The hotel is rather dark, smelly ,dated and dirty and the... More

Well if you don't know the difference between squash & Juice it's a sad world. We offer jams and marmalades home made br Granny Cakes for breakfast each jar has its own tea spoon so that there is no cross contamination, We have been operating like this for 10 years without comment. Many customers buy our product to take home. More

Had a lovely one night stay in the Pencarrow room. We were slightly worried about road noise as we were at the front of the building but we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. Hotel is full of old English character with wonky walls, ceilings and floors. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was served in... More

First time trip advisor reviewer however having booked this accommodation purely upon the fact that the reviews on trip advisor had been at 4.5 out of 5 I felt it was important to give people a proper review of this hotel. We arrived on Sunday around 5pm, and was shown to our room, when arriving we found the hotel to... More

Please see other comments on all various websites. as it was a Sunday you paid £40 + vat & breakfast for the room. The pictures you show are close ups of very small problems which i am not going to dwell on. You will see in a recent review i have posted comments from an inspection we had, which does... More

We received a warm welcome from the owner and shown to our room - The Courtroom Suite - couldn't believe this was available for one night over a weekend. The room is gorgeous set on two levels with the large king size ( actually two singles but you can't tell at all) set next to a lovely large window over... More

Our firsttime, our booking was taken by a very friendly, helpul receptionist , we arrived early, made to feel welcome by the owner, we were told all about the wonderful pool, gardens, resturants etc and then shown the room, Fowey, it was a small cottage room with en suite and large wardrobe, tea and coffee, fan, hairdryer, magazine on the... Stayed two nights with my wife. The room was small and very clean. Breakfast up to standard. Evening meal excellent with local sourced produce. Very good menu choices. Dining room had a very good ambience. The owner, who was very pleasant, is on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly. All the staff were very pleasant and efficient. A place to... More
