We're a disabled couple and the lodges are extremely accessible and comfortable for disabled people. The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We didn't award the highest rating due to poor wifi reception and cab service, though we don't see it as their fault and it didn't spoil our holiday.

We stayed in May for the first time. As a wheelchair user I am always just a little worried when going away that it might not be ok for me to manage. I was so wrong. Very easy access, clean, safe and all the disability equipment I needed. Kitchen had all the things you need, washing machine, tumble dryer, full size fridge freezer and a good oven. They where lovely people how own it and worked on site. Thank you so much and we will be back.

A week in these lovely, perfectly adapted lodges was just what we needed. We have 1 child in an electric chair but there is room/facility for up to 4 per lodge. Very well considered; generous and supportive hosts, lovely location (so long as you have your own transport). Highly endorsed!

one word " Fantastic " all amenities that a disabled member of my family would want. Friendly and very helpful staff/owners, nothing was too much trouble. very clean and airy rooms, plenty of parking and a lovely field at the rear to run my dog in off lead. Quiet position although don't use the snooty fox pub bad service there. The Copley Arms 5 mins down the road near seaton very good.

I have visited the Tudor Lodges a few times over the past couple of years and have thoroughly enjoyed every stay. Owners, Molly and Mike are very friendly and welcoming. The six lodges are fully accessible including wide access doors and profiling beds. The self catering facilities are also very good.
The complex is in a fantastic location; rural and quiet providing a wonderful view of the starry sky at night and just a short drive away from the quaint town of Looe with Polperro not much further down the road.I fully recommend Tudor lodges for a lovely break in sunny Cornwall.

We have been coming here for
the last 4 years it's out of this world . Thanks to Mike and molly for a fantastic place . There is a shop in a little village just up the road a way where you can buy a lot of good stuff . As for the site it is well looked after I have no complaints to make about it.

I went with my blind husband and 2 children to Tudor Lodges. We had a lovely week, and stayed in Lodge 1. It was very clean and comfortable, albeit the facilities were lower than normal, which is obviously for wheelchair users. It is in a beautiful, remote location, but not too far away from the neighbouring town of Looe, and Seaton, which has a great beach. The only downside was that the pub next door advertised with the lodge only serves Sunday Lunch meals and it would of been nice to have the convenience of a pub next door.

we stayed in lodge 5; unfortunately first thing you saw as you entered was a torn settee, clearly not a new tear. curtains also torn. was superficially clean but light fittings holding dust. light bulb missing from bedroom light. Towel rail hanging off wall, curtain hooks hanging off. Also having booked for 4 adults and 2 children; one adult needing the profile bed it was strange to be left with two double beds; so children required to share (which of course they would not at age 7 and 12 - so if everyone wanted a good nights sleep, parents were split up for the week)
If we go again i will be more specific with Molly about such arrangements, but despite promises to call me she did not tell us which lodge we were allocated until we got there.

However on the plus side; it worked well for a wheelchair user with need of profile bed and recliner and hoist. Our community nurses arranged for an air mattress to be delivered and that was in the lodge when we arrived although again a promise did not happen ...that it would be ready inflated and on the bed in case my husband needed a rest after the long journey. Things we overcame easily enough but lead to a feeling of being let down after such positive telephone conversations.

Again community nurses organised a local care agency to come in and they were used to attending Tudor lodges so that was good.

The Tudor lodge site is nice as its small and quiet and was accessible to most tourist areas; Mike told us a couple of times that wifi was being installed that week in a couple of lodges and would `spread` so all lodges could access it, but it didnt happen whilst we were there.

One of our lodge neighbours had a small incident late evening during the week and despite the numbers left by Molly and Mike in the lodge , they were unable to raise a response from either...which is a little concerning although we didnt find out why Molly could not be reached.

It is difficult to find well equipped holiday places for disabled people so i do hope Molly and Mike improve the standard of certainly Lodge 5, would not take much to get rid of that torn settee for a start!

This is a small complex of six wooden lodges, with a seventh being retained by the proprietors for their own use when on site.
All lodges have been carefully designed for guests with mobility issues. They all have ramps up to the lodges and internally are level access with wide doorways and a fully accessible shower room. The proprietors also have a range of equipment available eg manual hoist, profiling beds with pressure relief mattress, 'monkey poles' etc.
if you like quiet, this is the place for you as the complex is set in a very quiet location, overlooking fields with no neighbouring houses except a b & b which seems very quiet.
On the plus side, the proprietors are very helpful and obliging, mike being particularly amenable. The lodges are well appointed with microwave, overnight, fridge/freezer, washing machine and enough beds for six people.
On the down side, the complex is now five years old and beginning to show some signs of wear and tear. The lodge we stayed in was rather tired in places - the sofa was saggy, cushion covers broken and tatty, the television old-style with poor sound and the oven took an hour to reach its temperature ( the hobs were a dead loss) however, I had the opportunity to see inside other lodges and found that they had smart leather sofas and the ovens were newer and more efficient. Lodges number 2 and 4 would be my choice if i stayed again. hopefully, the proprietors will continue to invest in this lovely little complex and not allow it to become shabby.
Another downside is that the proprietors do not live on site and once they have left, the guests are left to their own devices. There is no Internet access and patchy mobile phone signals which can be a bit worrying at night. Needless to say, there is no security but as it is such a quiet area, presumably there is little trouble. However, apart from the usual 999 call, there were no instructions as to where the nearest hospital/GP surgery is sited.
Due to the remoteness of the complex (Morval is a tiny hamlet fringing a very busy road) there are no shops within walking distance so you need to plan ahead with your provisions as there is nowhere to buy milk, papers etc. The roads to Morval are also narrow and unlit so nighttime driving can be a challenge.
Also be aware that towels are not provided and are charged at £5 for two towels to hire.
Electricity is also on a meter - we put in £10 which lasted our family of four all week.
Lodges are not serviced (except on arrival) and clean linen is charged for. However, a vacuum cleaner is in each lodge but there are no cleaning products or cloths provided. This includes washing up liquid/bathroom cleaners.
The adjacent b & b, which also has a restaurant appears only to cater for its residents so cannot be relied upon to provide an evening meal, however, the local Chinese restaurant was more than happy to deliver a meal to the door.
All in all, a relaxing and pleasant location which I hope the proprietors continue to improve on what could be a centre of excellence, with regard to mobility-impaired travellers.

Gareth K asked a question Oct 2015
Is there wifi
Answer from patchrisall
Wiltshire, United Kingdom9 contributions4 helpful votes
here was not when we were there but all week Mike the co owner said it was being installed....so it maybe there now. Mike had said he was installing it in the middle of a line of lodges so would reach to all...so it will not be in each lodge i guess and so accessibility will need to be tested. however one can buy a device to give you your own wifi as my son did that so the children (and them) had wifi. i know a neighbouring lodge with a couple and and teenage children found the lack of wifi an issue. would suggest you call Tudor lodges and ask if it now installed if thats a problem. it is a nice small site though and very wheelchair friendly
