stayed for a break in a long journey, little knowing that Ashby St Ledger was the setting for the Gunpowder Plot! stylish, comfortable if compact rooms; excellent food, friendly staff and great value!

A charming, historic coaching inn in a delightful village. We have been before and kept meaning to go back. When we rocked up in muddy wellies one afternoon and wanted coffee no one threw their hands up in horror. In fact we were welcomed and served coffee as happily as if we were booted and suited and ordering a 3... More

I went with some friends for lunch a few weeks ago. The first thing we noticed were the prices...cheapest main course over £10. Burgers £11.95, steaks around £20. Now, this would be okay if we're talking fine dining, but the place is nothing special in it's ambience. The bar and restaurant are fairly ordinary looking. The chap who showed us... More

Dear Baggieboy I cannot tell when you visited the OCH, so I am unable to identify who was on duty that day because I would have liked to have investigated your comments with them. We make all our burgers on site using local lamb and they are very popular so I am disappointed you did not enjoy yours. If we... More

Excellent location for visiting the Grand Prix. Special arrangements were offered for an early breakfast so we could leave when we wanted to. Lovely hotel and great food and staff. Would definitely recommend and choose again. Nice and quiet location too.

Wanted to stay close to Milton Keynes for a music festival but couldn't find anything. Closest was Travelodge Kettering and it was more expensive. £80 bed and a fantastic huge cooked breakfast. Room small but stunning. Made very welcome. Only very slightly annoying thing is the incredibly bright green LED above the door and in bathroom (far too bright) it's... More

We gathered here as a family to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday. We didn't know the area so Mark and Frazer were great in helping me organise in advance! On the day, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Rebecca and Holly in particular were really excellent, a really credit to the place. Nothing was too much trouble and the... More

We stayed here for 1 night and glad we did. Nice grounds, pub and restaurant with good food and lots of charm. Our room was in the new wing and was clean, modern with a decent sized modern bathroom. Both the room and bathroom had windows that opened. This inn is the only place to eat in this "village". Easy... More

Very nice room, friendly staff, great food and very good value for money. This is the second time we have stayed at the Olde Coach House and were not disappointed. Ashby St Legers is a beautiful village and the OCH is in a lovely spot, good for a walk to explore the village. The overnight accommodation was very good and... More

We stayed here as a couple but had a business meeting close by. Lovely clean and friendly pub. Breakfast is amazing. We also had an evening meal one night and ordered a sharing platter another night food was faultless and a bit different. We had a bit of a wait for the food on an extremely busy Saturday night but... More
