Friendly staff, tired but comfortable would be a good summary of The Smithaleigh. I stayed upstairs in the adjacent building and the room whilst dated was warm, clean and comfortable with a decent powerful shower. Useful location just off the main route into Plymouth and a good alternative to a Premier Inn or Travelodge and better value. Staff were welcoming,...

Stayed here some years ago and it had not changed. Very dated rooms. My daughters rooms had a double bed, bunk beds and two put up beds in it. They were in the block away from the main building. We were in the main building upstairs. Smelt damp. Doors to rooms are very thin and not very secure. Would not...

We were very disappointed that after we traveled out of town to be told we can't have an evening meal because they had an evening function. So we had to go out for dinner. Our room was number 1 which was right next to the function room and disco, and when the guests came outside in the courtyard for a...

We were looking for somewhere to stretch legs and have a coffee when we came across this hotel. We were warmly welcomed and the drinks were quickly brought to us, the coffee was substantial and the teapot had enough for a good 2 cups. The place was very quiet but the person behind the bar was very friendly. The price...

I can highly recommend staying here as I have just spent a week there. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was excellent and great portions. A brilliant location as it's just off the A36. So I would most definitely like to stay there again sometime in the near future. A big thank you to everyone who...

We stayed for 5 days August bank holiday week. The hotel was busy with all manner of guests from families to cricket teams (very well behaved) to business men in conferences (in the function room). We were greeted by friendly staff who were very helpful and given lots of local knowledge of where to go and things to do throughout...

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Staff friendly. Room was dingy, shabby, damp and had a musty smell so bad I could smell it on my clothes all of the next day. Dirty glasses in the bathroom, wipe marks on the sink from poor cleaning. Stains on the carpet. Mould. After a very long drive I was...

Beautiful location. Arrived in carpark what a beautiful looking hotel. Welcome was friendly. Found room to be damp it had musky smell and cold as ice no heating option. Outside was stunning however inside needs some tlc. Chose not to stay for breakfast. Bit of a let down to be honest but then booked at a discounted price. Not likely...
