#2 of 5 B&Bs / Inns in Charlton Kings
We're small but sophisticated, informal but tasteful, individual but professional. We're more friendly than a corporate hotel and offer much more than a B&B. Quality and attentive service from the owners. Close to the town but also on the edge of the country. Ideal for Cotswold Way and walkers. Dogs welcome. Free Wifi. We are due for a major re-furbishment at the end of the year to include a new kitchen, dining room and bar. At this point we will be able to offer lunches and dinners to our in-house guests. Additional accommodation will also be constructed on the property. We offer a Boho CHIC Boutique 'Home From Home' hotel experience.

A basic B and B now run by a few lads. Room was clean and bath/shower good. Breakfast was nice but minimal. They seem to be running on a tight budget and conscious of waste! It’s perfect for a stop overnight but not for a few days as it’s not luxury and to be fair to the owner, his prices reflect this. The one major issue though was that the door is locked between 11-3 each day, so don’t arrive before 3 otherwise no access. This is annoying if you’ve had a long journey and the owner should allow new arrivals to at least have the opportunity to sit in the lounge/ leave bags/ provide cup of tea/coffee if early? In general it’s ok but needs investment as it’s running on empty. A real shame as it’s in a great location (gateway to cotswolds/ 10 min drive from Cheltenham town centre) and so this place should be busier.

Very Friendly, helpful staff. Large rooms, very clean but a little tired. Very nice breakfast, cooked fresh when ordered. No evening meal but several good pubs locally which serve excellent meals. Would recommend this hotel

Another great stay at the Hotel. After a previous successful stay, decided to stay here again especially with the local links to the Cotswolds and Bourton on the the Water and the Malverns. First thing I noticed was the refurbished exterior but still hoping the owners of the hotel invest into the interior of the hotel with all the mod-cons found in most hotels. The room I stayed in was pleasant with nothing too much trouble but was homely as expected. I asked for additional coffee sachets which was plenty for my stay. The breakfast was great again and again, nothing was too much trouble in substituting items due to dietary requirements. The staff members here are incredibly helpful and have managed to maintain the hotel. Hopefully in the upcoming future the rooms are updated style wise. Otherwise another great stay!

Stayed at the hotel this weekend , ok value for money , close to Cheltenham. Only booked as dog friendly . Rooms were ok , clean but freezing at night heating clearly wasn’t working and electric heater provided in room wasn’t heating the room. Shower would only turn to boiling and wouldn’t allow u to turn to a good temp so unable to use. Explained this to reception on leaving , unable to report at time due to reception bring unmanned after 9pm . great for one night.

Arrived at the hotel (about half an hour before check in admittedly), front door was locked but eventually answered by someone who looked like they had just got out of bed, in scruffy shorts and t shirt, they then handed me over to someone similarly dressed who spoke slightly better English. It seemed like they had never checked anyone in before. Room was fine but some of the furniture and fitting were shabby and the toilet seat was broken. Overall good value for the price as it was cheap.
