A great little place and location if you want an overnight stop before catching an early ferry or euro tunnel. Great food too. No private parking is the downside but easy enough to stop on the road outside. Recommended!!

We live locally and came here for lunch for the first time recently with my wife and young daughter (nearly 4yrs). The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was surprisingly good, even if my steak was very well done when I asked for medium. Unfortunately our visit was spoiled by a totally unnecessary altercation with the owner... More

Great location and lovely food- the fish and chips were great and there were lots of other things on the menu I am looking forward to trying. It gets very busy at peak times but they let you take plastic glasses onto the beach so there's always somewhere to sit.

We were out for a sunday walk/stroll , & came across this pub/inn. Coming from london and being a chef we just fancied a pint and bar snack. When entering the bar staff/lady on 23rd july was very nice as was the chef who was out doing some orders or something and mentions the specials that day, thus the octopus... More

We stayed at the Ship for 2 nights following a night in London and prior to a day's shopping in Calais We were in the cottage which had a private patio overlooking the sea We chose to eat in the restaurant on both evenings and we were very pleased that we did The food was excellent as was the service.... We had not booked Sunday lunch on a Bank Holiday but the staff happily accommodated us in the bar as the restaurant was full. I had a lovely crab, prawn and advocado tian to start followed by roast beef and all the trimmings. Very good. My husband enjoyed the real ale brewed on the premises.

Very disappointed after friends recommended this place. Went Easter Sunday evening to eat once seated we found the restaurant very cold everyone had to keep their coats on. We were told the heating had stop working. Only two over tables eating but service very slow. We had to repeatedly ask for everything including wine, bread, cutlery culminating in staff stating that they... More

Not much to look at from outside but a great location especially if you can get parked nearby. A proper local pub with a great restaurant and lovely rooms for the price. Good selection of beer (including own brews) and ciders and a long and classy menu matched by the cooking. Friendly, personal and attentive service. We will return.

I stayed at Parade Cottage, a little gem, owned by the Ship Inn and facing the sea. The room was very big, the facilities were splendid and everything was spotless. The breakfast, served in the pub's dining room, was generous and beautifully cooked. Service could not have been nicer. A lovely place to stay and such a nice change from... More
