This should have been a highlight of my trip but fell short of expectations. When I arrived the only member of staff was busy looking at insurance deals on the Internet and ignored me until I spoke to him. His attitude was a bit dismissive and he gave me a choice rooms to go to depending upon which woman I... More

After a long day of walking we were glad to arrive. Very helpful staff throughout especially when we wanted an early breakfast because of our walk which they accommodated so brilliantly. Great dinner at the pub and accomodation was perfect.

Staying local and visiting this pub again and as usual never a disappointment. Good food and reasonably priced. Excellent and friendly staff...and even friendlier locals. This place is a credit to the area.

We stayed two nights at the G and D; overall a very positive experience. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was dated but functional. There is no daily maid service, the room remained untouched for our stay, only two days, but we had to ask for milk and tea bags etc. The breakfasts were superb and I'm fussy,... More

Excellent beer, and some lovely food that complimented the beer. Dent itself it's very small but picture perfect. You can wander round the place take photos and get some great snaps before enjoying the beer. The staff here were friendly and sat us all down in the Resturant area. Loads of food. It's a very small place so leave the... More

Set in the middle of Dent, accessed by quaint cobbled streets, this was a real find. Real ales (on-site brewery) and a selection of ciders. The food looked good but I can't vouch for the taste because we arrived just as they had finished serving lunchtime food. Oh well, all the more reason to gp back another time!

Room was good and dog friendly. Good real ale choice. Breakfast good too but tables weren't made and we had to keep asking for things. The staff were doing their job and pleasant but just lacked the enthusiasm of staying here a positive, distinctive experience. The evening meal has two items (the steak and ale pie and the salmon) that... More

This is a busy pub in the heart of the village. It is well worth booking a table. The only improvement needed is on the portion sizes. I enjoy my food but the portion sizes are completely over whelming. The food is very good but I hate to see waste and the massive volume of food really put me off.... More

The staff were very helpful and welcoming at the George and Dragon. The room was very clean, comfortable with all the amenities you need. The bathroom had a strange slope but this feature was identified by a clear warning sign. The beer at Dent is fantastic, award wining and we really enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and the... A traditional pub / hotel which is an exceptional base for walking and sightseeing. Really good range of food above average pub offerings, good portion size (some starters could be mains) and breakfast was quality. Service suffered slightly when it got busy with delay in orders being processed but this is a minor concern and would not prevent another stay... More

Thank you for your review, firstly I'm delighted that you enjoyed the food, especially the breakfast, our breakfast staff have worked very hard to achieve and maintain our breakfast award from visit England. Regarding the delay during busier times, we have rather small kitchen in relation to the size of the pub, we try to stagger our bookings so this... More
