This pub and it's team never fail to delivery great friendly service coupled with a great menu executed amazingly well with a French twist. Not our local but well worth the extra drive time. The only argument each time is who's going to drive 😂. We pop in for a drink when we order take away in Martock and are always made to feel welcome and the team really know how to bar keep. The best Doombar locally.

I was on the first floor overlooking the road that goes to the hotel car park. The room was comfortable with everything you need although the furniture and the bathroom suite are showing their age. Due to the weather, I had the window open, with the result that I was woken up in the early hours of the Sunday morning by 'revellers' on the High Street having a loud discussion and some idiot who thought that loud engine revving and wheel spinning up and down the High Street was clever. The food is fantastic. Isabelle, Peter and the staff are great and I would happily stay there again.

We have eaten here numerous times over the past few years. The service is always friendly and welcoming even when busy. The food is excellent, the best pub roast I have ever eaten by far. Really relaxed atmosphere, in fact Peter and Izzy make you feel like you are round their house for dinner - awesome hosts. Definitely recommended. My parents stayed in the hotel for four nights and said it was lovely, great service, clean and spacious rooms.

Overall, a very good weekend stay with just a few small points making it miss out on 5. Lovely owners and staff and excellent food Limited car parking a possible problem and a room on the 2nd floor meant personal fitness had to be high. A very enjoyable stay
