2021 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Created by celebrated chef Raymond Blanc OBE, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons is renowned for offering one of Britain's finest gastronomic experiences. Situated in the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Great Milton, it is also one of the country's most intimate and original hotels, with 32 individually designed guest rooms and suites. The hotel received two Michelin stars in 1984, the first year of its opening, and, remarkably, has held them ever since. Surrounded by lawns, flower borders and orchards, the luxury hotel enjoys an idyllic, typically English setting. But beyond the eye-catching displays are vegetable and herb gardens that provide the kitchen-and the acclaimed Raymond Blanc Cookery School-with ultra-fresh, organic produce, ensuring the Michelin-star restaurant remains at the cutting edge of culinary excellence.

A magical experience with food and service to match. The gardens are beautiful to wander through, I think that afternoon tea on the lawns on a summers day would be a treat. We stayed DBB and it was worth the money. friendly attentive staff with food prepared with such love and understanding. each mouthful was a taste explosion, absolutely fantastic.

I have thought long and hard about this review as I want to be fair. Whilst the grounds are really lovely and the atmosphere is welcoming, there are points that really need addressing considering the price. We spent nearly £600 on lunch and have had much better food and service elsewhere at half this price and so this is why I am giving a three rating. The welcome was really nice and we were well looked after in the lounge by a delightful man who felt very natural in his approach. When we were sat down in the main dining room though we were left waiting for quite some time before any action happened with regards to drinks or anything really. The service throughout the rest of the meal was then very good until we were left with no wine in our glass for quite some time and had to ask in the end - not what you would expect. At one point we were sat there with no wine in our glasses whilst we watched two members of staff having a chat right next to us and walking past us several times not noticing. Whilst I understand you have to have a bit of fun at work - when people are coming to experience a 2 star establishment, at least make sure everyone is looked after first. Now the food - which I have to say was the most disappointing bit for us. Whilst it was really very good indeed - it did not have the wow factor I was expecting. The pork was overdone and the rest of the courses, bar the risotto and choc mousse were forgettable. The risotto though was absolutely delicious and so was the chocolate mousse dessert. In general a really lovely experience that I cannot justifying giving less than a 4 rating, but I was not wowed and would not come back.

18 months after the start of lockdown and after a period in which we have not stopped it was a well overdue indulgence to have an afternoon at Le Manoir. An amazing afternoon with lunch and wine pairing. Perfect pace and thanks for taking care of my diabetic issues. Staff are amazing :) Thanks again, hope we see you very soon.

This was a 70th birthday treat for my husband and it didn’t disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived. We had a lovely welcome from all the staff followed by a very enjoyable trip round the interesting and beautiful garden. Dinner was absolutely fantastic, each course was full of intense flavours that worked so well together. An absolute triumph made even more special by the friendly service.
