We stopped here on the West Highland Way before crossing Rannoch Moor. it was a pleasant day and we were able to sit outside and enjoy refreshments. It is not a modern place, but it is welcoming and conveniently placed for the many walkers who travel on the West Highland Way.

We arrived about half an hour before the official booking in time but we were warmly welcomed and let straight into our room. Our dripping wet clothes and boots were whisked away from us, to the drying room and returned to us the following morning. The building was a lovely mix of odd corridors and stairways. Our room was old... More

This place was fabulous from first glance and only got better. It is isolated, beautiful, comfortable and the evening meal was exceptionally good. Deer wandering past the window as I sat in the comfortable lounge. Not sure what it used to be like but the new management is ticking the boxes. Book early to make sure you get in.

The highlight of walking the WHW. Staying in this superb location. Such a warm welcome from Nadia and her staff. Although we had one of the smaller rooms, it did not matter, the lounge and dining room were excellent. The food was great - simple, tasty, well-presented and good value. Good luck to Nadia in this 'new' venture as she... More

I was part of a group of 4 walking the West Highland Way, unfortunately 2 of us did not make it until the next morning, where we ended our attempt, we were given a warm welcome in the morning and able to have full cooked breakfast even though we arrived after last breakfast orders, we were then able to shower... A lovely historic West Highland Hotel that retains a traditional character. The best has been made of the space available and the excellent staff and good quality food make the stay. It goes like a ringing fair with passing walkers getting shelter and sustenance but the splendid residents lounge gives you the option of a quiet environment. A great base... More

We were doing the west highland way walk and had booked this hotel back in January. We knew the owners had only moved in about March. The walkers bar was very small and a bus load of walkers came in in small groups. I don't know how the bar man coped and still kept smiling. The atmosphere was amazing! And... More

Secluded, beautiful, cosy and charming. If you're looking for a place to get away from it all, look no further. Stunning views and a lovely old building. Service wasn't perfect, but the location more than made up for it.
