I took my boyfriend for a special meal in the Alexander Restaurant last Saturday and what a special occasion it was indeed. The food was absolutely terrific and presented beautifully- we had high expectations after hearing of the recent award the restaurant received but these were superseded. The staff were attentive and friendly, constantly refilling our glasses and available for... More

Just had a superb Sunday Lunch at the Kincraig. No problem to accommodate 11 of us at late notice. Fantastic 3 course lunch at 15.95 per person which is an absolute bargain for the quality of food served. Why do a pub lunch when you can do a magnificent meal in this superb property with manicured gardens a cozy bar... More

Stayed here for our 30th anniversary. Don't know where to start! Food-amazing,hotel and room -spotless,grounds-lovely,views-breath taking and the staff, were the best part. Couldn't have been nicer, not over powering. Friendly helpful waitresses, room cleaners and bar staff, nothing too much trouble, genuinely. We will be back next year. Easily the best place we have ever stayed, and we have stayed... More

Stunning location and building, with immaculate gardens looking out towards the Firth and the local town of Invergordon. Even although it is just off the busy main A9, it sits high enough up you don't even know it is there. So very convenient and easy to find. From the cozy bar to the wood-panelled lounge with its original and HUGE... More

I took my mum up to the highlands so she could explore her McKenzie heritage. We chose this hotel because it was once a McKenzie holding and it looked so charming. The photos do not do it justice; it is simply gorgeous. The ambiance throughout the hotel is delightful - down to the open fire in the lounge area. The... More

Stayed here for one night for business. First thing to say is that hotel is in a lovely setting. The staff are without exception very friendly and attentive, I was really impressed. And the food was first class. I had a lovely bar meal for dinner and breakfast was very very good. The rooms are a bit old fashioned, but... More

Although the hotel itself is lovely, staff are friendly enough the biggest problem was with the food. I had pork, which was the size of a small piece of lamb at most, and served with smash!! No, not mashed potatoes, SMASH! The food had clearly been sat under a hot plate for a good 20 minutes before being served too.... More

Faultless experience from start to our reluctant check-out. This is how hoteliers should be running their businesses, well done Ray & charming staff. Food was perfectly prepared (restaurant or in the bar). When you dine here, you must try the Scottish themed tapas "The little pots & pans" delicious! Huge bedroom & bathroom, proper towels and powerful shower, needed my... More

The room was great and the view fantastic. The food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent - inventive and packed with local foodstuffs. Everything worked and the staff could not have been more helpful.

This is such a peaceful quiet spot. The staff, service, room and food is first class, would definitely recommend and also come back again. Not far from the Black Isle and Inverness. This was an impromptu visit and so glad to have stayed here.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kincraig Castle Hotel is a stunning, family owned, award winning 4 AA star hotel situated in its own landscaped gardens with breath-taking views towards the Cromarty Firth and the Black Isle beyond. From your first sight of the Castle, as you drive up the long tree-lined drive, you know you are somewhere special. The grand white-harled building was the ancestral seat of the Clan Mackenzie and the history and elegance of the period is reflected in the displays of crow step gables, ornamental turrets and stone mullions. You will receive a warm welcome at Kincraig Castle Hotel and made to feel at home by the owners and their team. ... more   less
