Had a couple of nights off from visiting family here. Great place! Very comfortable, and big open fire in hallway for winter night coffee and whisky. Definitely recommended. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The hotel receptionist welcomed us and upgraded our room because there was a room available for us. The only tiny issue was that we booked specifically to have a king bed and when we got to our upgraded room, it had two separate single beds in it. The hotel was of high quality and had everything you'd expect. We did... More

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the 2 bedroom Links apartment just up the road from the hotel. The apartment was well appointed with lovely views of the sea, golf course and cows. It was a perfect place to stay for a family of 4. We only went to the hotel to pick up the keys and go... More

I stayed for 5 nights during the golf week, late may 2016. I travelled on my own and could not have been made more welcome. I was given a lovely clean room (7), bed was comfortable, tea/coffee, water and biscuits replenished daily. The breakfast was cooked to order and the smoked haddock and poached egg was a real treat. The... More

My partner and I live in Golspie and go to the Marine as a wee treat occasionally. Every dish I've ever had has been perfect. We always know we're going to get amazing food! Service has always been great, I've always found the staff polite and very attentive. I feel comfortable and relaxed at The Marine.

Went here for dinner on way home from a trip only to be turned away. "Sorry we're not doing dinners tonight as we have a bus party in" Now, while we understand that they were "possibly" unable to accommodate us the attitude was pretty dire, to the point of being blunt. As I said "Unimpressed" and will not return any... More

Dear Frankie, I must apologise for the blunt and unprofessional manner in which my staff dealt with your situation. It has highlighted a need for training in this area. I hope you will give us the opportunity to show you that this was a one of and not the way I would want our potential customers to dealt with. Regards... More

My wife and I spent a night here during a tour of the North and it was very, very good. The Royal Marine provides genuine traditional Highland hospitality and one of the nicest features is the staff who are predominantly local and without exception polite, welcoming and good fun. The setting is beautiful and the rooms are bright and pleasant.... More

We stayed for a week in the self-catering Links apartments. We had number 16 which overlooks the golf course giving a north east aspect with wonderful views of the ever changing sea. Overall I would say we had a great week- Brora is lovely village and the apartments are tranquil, modern and comfortable. The use of the leisure facilities was... More

Stayed for a few days in late July, could not have found a better hotel. Great staff, lovely room, great food and location. Nothing we could fault. Particularly liked the country house atmosphere of the public rooms. Loved the snooker room especially. Staff could not do enough for you, genuine good feeling from all of them. Be aware the hotel... This hotel is filled with unique architectural details and is just a delight. The grounds are beautiful. We had a very comfortable rooms with a king bed and plenty of space. The included breakfast was excellent, and we had dinner here also and found it very, very good. Be forewarned that there are no elevators but we didn't find that a... More
