After reading the very mixed reviews about the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by how nice everything was. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the room was warm and clean and the restaurant meal was good. We were cheerfully acknowledged as soon as we came down for breakfast, there was a good choice on the menu and we were served...

Popped in one lunchtime recently. Nice surroundings with lovely sea views and we were shown to a table. We were served promptly by a young, friendly waitress) I opted for the scampi but wished I hadn't. It was breaded mush and a few chips. Wished we'd gone to a cheap & cheerful carvery instead tbh. Will give the scampi a...

Spent a weekend stay here to enjoy Brighton, left with a horrendous bout of food poisoning. The hotel itself is well-presented, clean and tidy, and the room had everything we needed. Can't fault anything in that respect. The restaurant however, is a different story. Terribly slow service despite the friendly staff members' best efforts, very fatty and tasteless cooked breakfast,...

I used to visit this restaurant about 6 years ago when I lived more local and it was a fantastic carvery. Id heard that it had been renovated so I booked a table for 6 of my family members for a 12.30 lunch on Sunday. The phone call to book was with a middle aged lady who sounded very uninterested...

Booked two room one was fine but the other one the door to the balcony didn't lock, complained to the assistant manager who said there wasn't anything they could do and they have...

Booked the hotel via the Old English Inns brochure (which we've used for many years) as we wanted to go to Brighton for the weekend with friends but refused to pay Brighton prices (2 nights here equivalent to 1 night on the seafront). When we arrived we loved the location above the beach in Rottingdean but from there the we...

Lovely location overlooking the sea along the coast from Brighton. If you decide to go into there, use the frequent buses which stop outside as parking is expensive and difficult. The room was spotless and the bed amazingly comfy. Staff friendly and helpful, smiling and welcoming. The menu was varied and staff willing to amend set dishes if we wanted....
