Held a 2 day employee conference here, events team are experienced and knowledgable so the planning process ran relatively smoothly. Operations team on site are excellent and efficient. Overall a successful event and would certainly use this venue again if the opportunity arose. Only downside is check-in for the hotel rooms is 4pm, which is late compared to other venues.

We went to Tortworth for a family celebration. It was excellent. The hotel is in a great location for exploring and really great for photos both inside and out. The rooms were great, the staff were helpful, great pool (included in room rate), lovely gardens...all that you would expect. However, I was seriously disappointed by the evening meal choices. Generally... More

We booked this hotel to break up our journey back from Cornwall. As it was a Sunday, we took advantage of a special package which entitled us to dinner as well. Unfortunately, on the way back up from Cornwall, our car broke down so after a tortuous few hours, we arrived at the Four Pillars tired and unhappy in a... More

Rude staff at front desk. The guy at reception clearly isn't keen on working in customer service. Did not inspire us at all. Room wasn't shown or directed to us. Found ourselves and was very unimpressed. Like a maze to find it but that's expected in such a grand building. Room did not meet expectations at all. We had to... More

Myself and my husband went here last Friday for a Tom Jones tribute night. We had a delicious four course meal. A great tribute act and excellent disco until 1 am. Our room was lovely. The breakfast was superb. The staff were friendly helpful. We can not wait to visit again.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights to include her birthday earlier this month. Although this was one of the busiest hotels we've stayed at (it was clearly a very popular deal on Secret Escapes!), generally speaking the service did not suffer as a result. On arrival, the reception service was very efficient and friendly. We then went for... More

Have stayed here before and bed and breakfast is lovely, this time my partner surprised me with a night away with afternoon tea and dinner!I was so looking forward to the food as their breakfast is really excellent! The Afternoon tea looked fabulous and the sandwiches and scones were ok and plenty to fill you up, but the cakes tasted... More

We had lunch here with friends. We hadn't been before, and first impressions were good. The house and surroundings are beautiful, and parking was easy. Moreton's restaurant, situated in the old library, is a lovely room. Our table for six was ready, with large bottles of chilled water. The three course meal was buffet style, and the waiters who took... More

The hotel looks beautiful and the grounds are lovely but sadly it's very average and dreary inside although quite clean. The rooms are dated but clean enough. The food & Service in the Mortimer Restaurant was very hit and miss. On our first morning we were seated at a dirty used table not relayed from the last guest..and had to ask for... More

We found out about Tortworth through an offer on Secret Escapes. It proved to be excellent value for money and we received exactly what had been proposed. In fact it was even better, as the bedroom was a very good size, the bed extremely comfortable and the whole stay, even though it was only for one night, a wonderful experience.... More
