Stayed for one night with friends who had been before and recommended it. Amazing from start to finish. We stayed in the cottage rooms which were very comfortable and well equipped with tea, coffee, fresh milk and bottled water. We started the evening with cocktails at the bar, which were delicious. We then had the seven course tasting menu, which was sublime. The staff were so friendly and the service excellent. after a good nights sleep we all enjoyed a full English, which again was first rate. The staff were all so friendly and went the extra mile. We will certainly be returning again.
Booked our table on Friday 22nd April 2022 and had the 5 course tasting menu. The staff were really friendly as soon as we arrived and the restaurant is absolutely lovely. The food was outstanding and as a special occasion this really did hit the mark. Somewhere I'd definitely love to visit again!
The Wife of Bath is an interesting B&B in a converted period house, ideally located in the picturesque village of Wye, with easy access to the Channel Tunnel and has an excellent on site restaurant. We found our 'comfort' room (in the main building) quite cosy but comfortable for a 1 night stay and the staff we met were all very helpful - so full marks there. Dinner in the restaurant was also very enjoyable and definitely no need to eat out. Only minor downsides were that the lounge/bar was closed due to Covid restrictions, so the only place to meet friends we were travelling with was in the restaurant, and breakfast is only served from 8.00 (meaning a croissant box for those with early morning channel crossings). There was also quite a bit of noise from the restaurant until around 11.30pm, so it might be best to request a room in the annexe if you want an early night.…
We stayed here because we wanted to eat here, but the rooms stand up on their own merits. On the ground floor in the cottage our room was small but cosy with a comfortable bed and full of character. Wye is a beautiful looking village and truly another world to those of us from the suburbs, it also places visitors well to explore the surrounding countryside and Canterbury. While you won't get all the facilites of a large hotel, there is strong wifi, a shower that despite its limited controls provides a powerful jet of hot water and parking outside. The included breakfast, served in the restaurant, offers a choice of cooked or continental and makes a worthy start to the day for those of us used to grabbing a bowl of cereal before we rush out. The whole team are excellent and give the impression that they really want guests to have a super experience.…
Stayed in early January for one night whilst taking a road trip around Kent. The manager called to confirm the day before that we were still coming after booking on line a few days previously. The accommodation was good, a nice room with a small en suite shower room. We arrived late afternoon after visiting Canterbury. There is a small car park at the back of the inn. We had the most amazing Spanish dinner - the tasting menu with wines. The food was exquisite and the service was excellent. The restaurant is modern and stylish. I would love to return. The breakfast the next morning was top notch and again very good service. All in all dinner was the highlight of our trip. Bravo!
The building has quite a bit of history in it and it shows within the rooms which gives a pleasant feel. We stayed in the Sir Thopas room for 2 nights and found it a pleasant room. Staff is very friendly and pays attention to details. The only thing to note probably is the noise level. The room is above the restaurant and the music can be audible. Perhaps it should be taken more into account and the music volume should be heavily reduced once it gets past 10 or something. All in all a good stay and we will be back.
The room was average size but the big was large and very comfortable. Tea & Nespresso machine in room. Fluffy towels & robe. Cotton sheets and soft pillows. Perfect for an overnight stay and within easy reach of Ashford & M20 but still in the country. Coop within a 5 minutes walk open 7 am til 10 pm. Ate at the restaurant which was also very good.
Thank you once again to Akos and all the Team for making our wedding anniversary very special. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome from Akos along with the surprise of a upgraded room, The delicious dinner ,wine, breakfast and charming friendly staff made our stay complete. Our room was so comfortable and all the little added extras are a lovely touch. We went on a midweek retreat and it was excellent value for the money we paid. Hope to see you again very soon.
We spent two nights here and enjoyed our time immensely. We stayed in the Squire room. It is a small room with a small bed and small bathroom - but that is what we expected. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed feeling welcome but not ‘managed’ - which can happen in small B&Bs. Really centrally located which allowed us to enjoy walks and the village.
Perfectly executed, tasted delicious, meticulous care with flavours, textures and presentation. I don’t think we’ve eaten better Spanish cuisine. We ordered mackerel, croquettes, hake with mussels and a seared lamb dish. Lovely service and very fair price. A new favourite!
