The only criticism of this hotel, is that the shower was cold in the morning. However a lovely nights sleep and an excellent breakfast. The cold shower problem will no doubt be resolved as the Hotel was undergoing refurbishment. Will stay again

I booked a weekend away for our wedding anniversary for September as we had been there before and enjoyed it. When we arrived they informed us the spa facilities were closed as was the pub and restaurant. Had we known about this beforehand we would have gone elsewhere. And if we didn't have a car it would of cost us... More

We booked a small double room. Well it was definitely small. The bed especially. Wouldn't call it a double, more like a large single. The room smelt strongly of disinfectant!. En suite very small too. Shower had hardly any water pressure. Breakfast was good. Had to use different entrance at night, which meant we couldn't get to the lift. Not told... More

After reading the other reviews for the hotel we were worried what we would arrive to. Having arrived and parked in the private car park we were created at reception by a charming young man who showed us our room so we could check it before checking in. The room was spotless with crisp white bedding. We checked in without... More

Stopped over to see friends for a boozy night so booked two rooms at the Shurland. By chance my wife and I had the honeymoon suite which boasted a Four poster bed, sofa and dressing table . TV and tea coffee etc. Also an ensuite with a Jacuzzi. This was a lifesaver in the morning but it was that noisy... More

To be honest I wasn't expecting much, but it would be nice if the bins were emptied in the rooms and there was a proper hoover around! It is under new ownership so I expect it will improve. Restaurant is currently closed. The reception staff were very helpful.

Stayed here and quite disappointed with the rooms. Very drab furniture and basic, I felt this was a no frills approach. Staff are very young but keen to please and try their best. The food is good and worth a stop over for this reason. Eaten here several times and never failed to deliver good good. Think I will keep... More
