We arrived Saturday 17th August 2019 for one nights stay due to us attending our local club event at Sour Leas Farm. We arrived at about 5pm in the Saturday afternoon and greeted by a friendly hostess. She showed us to our room (the cart house - family suite). It had everything we needed - except a TV but actually I was pleased it didn’t in the end and it explain in the information folder why there is no TV! There was nothing I could fault about the room - en suite facilities with over bath shower. We had bedside cabinets, dressing table, chair, wardrobe and tea and coffee making facilities with glasses for water etc. Tea is Yorkshire Tea (what else?!) and Nescafé coffee with a hot chocolate. So handy having a kettle to fill up the flask for day 2 of our adventures. The

If you’re looking for the Yorkshire version of Escape to the Chateau, look no further! Easterside Farm is a charming escape to the country. You are warmly welcomed and it is a lovely place to stay. The views are breathtaking and there are lots of characters to get to know on the farm! Breakfast is outstanding with lots of choice and a relaxed service. Fresh produce from the farm are used within breakfast, the sausages and the scrambled eggs are amazing! A lovely place to escape hustle and bustle, relax and regroup.

Another lovely stay at Easterside Farm. Sarah is a brilliant host, nothing is to much trouble, she has thought of everything in the rooms, and I’m sure if there was anything else you needed she would do her best to sort it. The views from the house are breath takingly stunning. Hawnby is a fantastic location for seeing Yorkshire an hour from the coast and an hour to the dales, with lots of fabulous little market towns on route. Sarah’s breakfast are a wonderful start to the day with all locally sorced produce, homemade preserves and Granola, they set you up for the day. Not forgetting the wonderful homemade cake or biscuits that you will find on you tea tray, which has fresh milk not those awful little cartons, another lovely touch. Easterside Farm really is a find.

Sarah is an excellent hostess making us feel welcome throughout our two night stay. Breakfast freshly cooked and a wide choice to suit different diets and delivered with a small and cheerful conversation. Our room was clean and comfortable with drink making facilities and tray bakes on both days which were home made, a nice touch. A single track road with passing places to the farm guarantees a tranquil stay. Beautiful views surround the farm. We would definitely stay again and are pleased that we chose this accommodation.

My husband and I stayed at Easterside farm for 2 nights on our way to Scotland. The farm is in a beautiful setting but quite remote. Sarah our host was very friendly and bubbly. Our room had lovely views, was clean and a very comfy bed. The bathroom had only a small bath and no shower. Our first night stay we had no hot water so had to boil lots of kettles for the bath. We had hot water for our second night ( early bath ) The breakfast was excellent with good choice, try the scrambled egg with cream yum. Thought it was a bit expensive compared to other farm b and b's that had better facilities but we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your review, and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with despite the mis-hap with the water. And we are very happy to hear you would recommend our breakfasts. As you were staying in one of our attic rooms, where it is physically impossible for us to put a bigger bath and a shower in, there is just no room for it. We do have two rooms which have a shower (Granary & Carthouse), so if you wish to stay again, please do say you want a shower and we can ensure you get one of those rooms. Again, we apologise profusely about the hot water situation. It was unfortunately it is out of our control when the other guests use all the hot water in the tank, and keep using it resulting in the water not being able to heat up correctly. We did try and correct this problem for you, and made sure you had hot water for the rest of your stay. Luckily this problem is very rare, it just happened to happen to you this weekend. We are sorry you feel we were too expensive, but we do our research and as we are 4 star silver award from Visit England, we feel we are fairly priced for what we offer. We do hope we see you again, where you can stay in one of our other rooms with a shower, where hot water will not be an issue.

Stayed here on a last minute booking and really loved it. We were greeted with a log fire burning in the guest lounge, hot water bottles in the bedroom, very comfortable beds, and an excellent home-made breakfast the following morning.

Easterside farm is a lovely, traditional b&b around 8 miles out of Helmsley. The views from the farm are stunning. SARAH ;-) is a very welcoming host and will do her utmost to make you feel at home. The double bed in our room (family room on ground floor of main house) was very comfortable with the bathroom just a few steps along the hallway. The breakfast (local bacon, sausage, homemade granola etc) was very good quality and the homemade cake each day was very welcome! As mentioned in other reviews some 'mod cons' (wifi, tv) aren't immediately to hand in the bedroom but the lounge is comfortable and cosy and you can get those things there. We can recommend the following places to eat in the local area; Royal Oak at Gillamoor, Helmsley Spice in (you guessed it) Helmsley!

Fortunately our Satnav was very accurate as the farm from the North is approached along narrow and steep roads and would be difficult to find without detailed instructions or an OS map. Made very welcome. Views are impressive. Room clean and comfortable. Although the rooms do not have a TV there is an excellent lounge to spend the evening in. The rooms all have a bath but no shower with an adequate supply of hot water. Breakfast is satisfying and well cooked. The stay was memorable
