We spent four days cycling in and around the Wolds. While we were blessed with good weather the Old Stables made all the difference: location, rooms with own front door, lovely grounds, guests own communal sitting/dining room, and excellent breakfast. But above all Amanda and Peter our hosts. Welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The perfect hosts. I... More

We have just returned from a delightful long weekend commencing with horse racing at Market Rasen before we checked in at this charming establishment. We were greeted by Amanda who showed us to the two rooms we had booked. Both spotlessly clean with excellent bathroom facilities. So refreshing to have a shower with power! It was cold on arrival but... More

Had a one night stay here on May, 21st; and the reviews on Trip Advisor all have a consensus; beautiful location, quiet, peaceful, sheep and lambs frolicking in the field next door and a beautifully kept garden on your door step. Amenities are fantastic - powerful walk in shower, lovely comfy bed and your breakfast in the morning is a... More

The perfect getaway. Comfortable BIG bed, fabulous shower, generous tea and coffee. The view of the Wolds and the garden was lovely accompanied by birdsong! The most wonderful breakfast was provided from healthy fruit to a hearty man-size full English which kept us going for several hours walking in the Wolds. As a new visitor we really appreciated all the... More

Whenever in the area I try to stay at the Old Stables. It's tucked away in Walesby, a few minutes drive from Tealby and the Kings Head! The rooms are clean and quiet, the owners are always pleasant, and the breakfast is good. Chat them up for an extra sausage: it's worth it!!!

A lovely B&B, quiet and peaceful, an excellent breakfast. Very clean and warm with toiletries and tea/coffee etc provided, also fresh milk in the kitchen fridge with a cool flask to store it in the rooms - a nice touch

We stayed for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room itself was very clean and modern, but still kept a cosy traditional feel, with a lovely comfy bed and the shower was excellent. The full english breakfast was very good and there was a good selection... More

Great location for walking - right on the Viking Way. Very comfortable, cosy room; quiet, perfectly equipped, excellent shower, spotlessly clean. Ideal for a weekend. Lovely surroundings, even in the rain! The breakfast was fantastic, as were Peter and Amanda. We're a gay couple and felt entirely welcome and at ease - they were friendly, helpful, and generally lovely people.... More

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, peaceful setting and perfect attention to detail. Although our room was not on the large size, it was perfectly adequate, immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. The best part was the 'most comfortable' king size bed........Best nights sleep ever! Modern bathroom with walk in wet room, again beautifully designed. Amanda was both welcoming, attentive and informative. When we... More
