Stopped here for a mid week lunch. Had the sausage and mash. It was amazing! The gravy was so rich I just had to finish my plate. Does mean I couldn't move for the rest of the day. My mate had the pie and she also sung it praises and cleared her plate. Great value for money. I will definitely...

The service, quality of food and the wines were outstanding. There were more than sufficient staff all with a cheery disposition. The quality of the meats used was outstanding. The standards wines by the glass were first class. This is our 2nd Christmas there; never disappointed.

The downstairs is upmarket, with what seems to be a high-class restaurant (a bit dearer than I wanted to pay for). The room I was in upstairs was clean and the bathroom all worked OK but it was a very ordinary pub bedroom. It was about all right for me but the head of a double bed was against the...

Three friends met up for a Christmas catch-up. We ordered the fillet steak. We were not disappointed, the steak melted in the mouth. The accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked. Fantastic! A peaceful ambiance which made for a relaxing evening. No shouting above crowds. Would recommend to anyone who wants to chat over lovely food.

We came for the Christmas lunch menu, three courses for a fixed price. We arrived just before our allotted booked time on a Friday lunchtime, had drinks at the well stocked bar and when all of our party had arrived we were seated at our nicely laid out Christmas table. Our pre ordered starters, main and dessert were all of...

We had a wonderful evening in the Garden Room with a delicious buffet and urn of mulled wine supplied by the friendly staff at the Arms. The party was for both adults and children and this was catered for in the choice of food of which there was a very generous amount. The staff regularly checked to see if we...

Had excellent lunch, promptly made with care and expertise. Decor prepared for Christmas thoughtfully - just a bit wacky. Many tables, armchairs and log fire. Landlord very relaxed and welcoming. New kitchen staff who seem very competent. Good place to eat on a cold day in winter.

Enjoyed a one night stay in the Ilchester arms, the room was nice and homely. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the young man behind the bar called Joseph. The food was delicious, I particularly enjoyed my ham, egg and chips for lunch

Just returned from a night out with my girlfriends! Went for a meal here and it was wonderful service and delicious food! We were rather noisy and apologised but was told that "it was fine and you were just having a good time!" Everyone's meal looked and tasted so,so good!! A party of 8! I have also been here for...

Although the staff seem very pleasant. The rooms are dated and lack imagination..the beds are horrendous as is the uneven floor. The whole place needs a good clean. Halloween has been and gone. Get rid off the cob webs. While having coffee after breakfast. I noticed a dog in the kitchen... come on basic hygiene
