Lovely 12th century pub lots of beams so mind your head. Can't fault the food except that there is too much of it. Went with the girls from work about a week ago, had surf and turf. Great. Tonight we had Cajun grill well cooked with enough spice to give it poke but still able to taste the meat. The... More

Thought we would try the food as we kept saying we would every time we passed. Was not disappointed. Great food, home made pies scrumptious, really friendly waitresses and a lovely place. Highly recommend. 😋

great homemade food with good service. will be going back for sure. Nothing was to much trouble a friend had a coughing fit and the waitress rushed over with a glass of water. There is a great choice on the menu it was hard to decide.

We are very well traveled and know excellence when we experience it. The Sunday carvery is the best we've had, the chef clearly knows what he's doing and takes a pride in his product. What ever time you turn up the food is succulent and regularly replenished. The pulled pork is to die for. The staff are very welcoming, you... More

After a long walk in the area we decided to stop here for a drink and while at the bar we ordered some bar snacks. Lovely pub, our dog was welcome and we had a lovely drink but the bar baskets leave a lot to be desired, I hope the menu isn't as bad as this as it really was... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I'm surprised that you didn't like our bar baskets, as they have been very popular, and I can assure you they are not from Iceland! If you could email me on sarah_horseshoes@outlook.com with a few details as to what you ordered, and why it wasn't up to our usual... More

The other half and myself decided to pop in here on the off chance that we could get a table. We were greeted by smiling faces and seated straight away. There is a fair bit to choose from on the menu but, I decided on the lasagne with chips and peas. I didn't have to wait long and it was... More

We had a table booked for four on Saturday evening, not having been before. Whilst there were two or three behind the bar and they were not packed out, it took an age to get served, customers were served in a random manner rather than the staff keeping an eye on who was first. Although the food was well prepared... More

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to us. The Saturday evening that you visited was a very busy one, and I can only apologise that you had to wait to be served at the bar. We always try to keep an eye on who is next to be served, but, as we are only human, we do make mistakes. We... More

Lovely old building - comfortable well-appointed bedrooms, - excellent food, - friendly, helpful and efficient staff. We really couldn't find any faults ,though you do have to remember that when it was built people may have been shorter as there are many low beams downstairs. Ducking if you are over 5ft 6ins just adds to the experience! We will definitely return... More

Food was fresh, well prepared, well cooked and excellent service Easy to find and plenty of parking, character period building. Warm welcome, lovely atmosphere - if you are tall mind your head on low beams. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite Highly recommend this lovely venue.
