Easy to find. Lovely helpful staff and nice to have a lounge and small bar however, the place looks tired and our room was rather dated. For one night it was fine, but I would not choose to stay much longer. On the up side , there was a good choice for breakfast.

This is a charming boutique hotel inside a lovely town. The staff are quite friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable - a nice space, each unique. Their breakfast is excellent (drench press coffee, delicious tea, whiskey porridge and a full English menu with great sausage and eggs) and a really nice way to start your day. The shops along... We only stayed one night (5th April) on a touring holiday and was recommended this place by the Chequers pub where we had an evening meal. The room (Birch) was on the top floor and had a shared bathroom. My wife and I had a good sleep but the bathroom was a little cramped. I really liked the simple touches... More

Springwells is a lovely, friendly, small hotel situated in the beautiful historic Steyning village. The hotel is situated at the quiet end of the high street, away from the main traffic. We decided to have a Mother's day celebration at the hotel - and what a master stroke was that! The breakfast comprised four courses, including a Bellini cocktail; one... More

This hotel was truly wonderful. Impeccable, polite, and extremely friendly staff. The room (Willow) was simply gorgeous, as was the very comfortable bed. Breakfast was as great as the reviews rave about. I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough. Thank you to the staff for a very relaxing and enjoyable three days. I certainly will be back.

Very friendly staff and memorable porridge with whisky for breakfast (as a starter!) Pleasantly suprised to find that this was a spacious building with lots of facilties and some nice touches such as a cheese board and other provisions for residents. Comfortable rooms although in some need of renovation as do all large buildings. Excellent forst stop on South Downs... More

i love Springwells in Steyning! smashing old building, lovely airy conservatory, wonderful gardens and delicious teas! we have just eaten a wonderful cream tea there, lots of lovely warm, freshly-made scones with really good jam. Only disappointment was that there were no fruit scones, only plain ones, would've been nice to have both!

A very quaint hotel which is very well appointed. Lots of lovely touches and a very well appointed dining room for breakfast. The room was ample sized with a large double four poster bed which was very comfortable. The hotel has a swimming pool available, but the best feature was the staff who were very helpful and friendly. They were... More

A charming stop if you are walking the South Downs Way. Steyning is lovely and the staff and Springwells is just a delight. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary Prosecco and the delicious breakfast!

Phillippa Nudds, the extraordinary manager of Springwells, and her talented staff welcomed us on a rainy October day when my husband and I and a friend chose to take a day off our 110 mile hike to take care of an ear infection and enjoy the beautiful town of Steyning, West Sussex. We and our traveling companion enjoyed the cozy... More
