Nice pub, ideally situated in pretty village by the River Wharf. Smashing beer, great food and comfortable rooms. Service just a little slow, but who cares! The food is much better than just good pub fare - an imaginative menu and a fair wine list with reasonable prices.

My husband and I came across this little hotel and booked into the last vacant room. It overlooked the river and and the glorious dales beyond. we ate in the hotel restaurant with the food and service being very good. Breakfast was also very enjoyable. Lovely walks straight from the hotel. Our room was very quiet....our only complaint was that... More

We had lunch here recently on a Saturday and it was terrific. They do not take table reservations and with the regular steam of visitors coming through the door I can understand why not. The place was heaving. We were seated in the dining room looking out onto the river and the green, and up to the hills which surround... More

Whenever visiting The Dales we make a point of going to The Red Lion for lunch. We have always been lucky with the weather so sit on the beautiful terrace overlooking the river. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. We shall return!

It gets better and better . Everything about THE RED LION is great... the location, the rooms, the food and especially the staff. We have been going to this gorgeous inn for a number of years and intend to continue to do so! Because it's family run there are lots of little extras ... lovely toiletries, home made biscuits, comfy... More

We stayed and ate here. Wharfedale has a limited amount of hotel accommodation so this is a very popular hotel and restaurant. The location is by the river, overlooking the village green and the hill side opposite. This is idyllic. The accommodation is either in the older rooms in the main buildings or newer rooms in the annex. We were... More

The location for this hotel is exceptional, right by the River Wharfe and surrounded by fells, and ideal for walks in all directions. And the staff on the whole are very friendly and professional. The two receptionists on our second morning were most helpful in helping us sort out our walk to Troller's Gill. We had room 14, which is... More

Many thanks for your review, and for the most part it sounds like you enjoyed your stay, when guests request anything we always try to accommodate these wishes, however you booked 1 day prior to arrival and we allocated the only room we had free, we disagree that the bed takes up the whole of the room, room 14 is...
