Sadly not a great experience. We had booked a family meal for 13 of us at 2.30 Sunday afternoon. We were shown to our table, given menus then nothing happened. After almost 15 minutes we alerted the bar staff that we wished to order our meals. A waitress arrived and we asked about the Sunday lunch and were told it... More

The room was nice, comfortable and clean, the pub was nice, but sitting next to the river (with beer) in the peaceful countryside was marvellous. The food was superb, I'm not a massive steak eater but the sirloin was the nicest I've had. Altogether a really enjoyable stay.

Three of us stayed at The Red Lion on the first day of our Way of the Roses cycle ride. It was just what we needed after a long exhausting day. Excellent service, nice rooms (both in the pub and the Manor House), and most importantly great food and quality beer. We were very impressed by the experience, and the... More

Warm welcome on arrival, stayed in the Manor House next door to the pub. Clean and tidy room with small en-suite, would be no good for large couple, but fine for us. Good breakfast with plenty of choice and good service. The location is excellent for visitors looking for good walks by the river, beautiful scenery and relaxing village life.... More

Really nice country hotel. Friendly staff, good rooms and great food and beer and an excellent breakfast. Good base for the first sections of the Dales Way. You can get a bus to Ilkley and walk back. Don't park under the lime trees - they will drop sap on your car.

On a family trip we stayed for one night at The Red Lion in the Manor House. Parking at the hotel is fine, and a good check in with a helpful receptionist. We reserved rooms in the Manor House part of the hotel. On the booking site we used it said nothing about the access or stairs. This is fine... More

Many thanks for your honest review, I will go through your comments one by one, firstly if guests tell us they need a ground floor room or struggle with stairs we do have a choice of ground floor accommodation for them, secondly with regards to the décor at the Manor House, we are on a constant rolling program of decoration... We had a superb meal here while doing the Way of the Roses cycle route. The staff were very accommodating as we hadn't booked, and they were very busy, they found us a table in the restaurant, but let us choose from the bar menu. The food was absolutely lovely, beautifully prepared and presented, and the staff were all polite... More

A Beautiful setting for the Red Lion Hotel and with good food available it makes Burnsall one of my favorite stop overs in the Yorkshire Dales especially if the weathers fine like on my visit. If you are unfortunate with the weather there is a covered shelter by the riverside with overhead heaters that can take the sting out of... More

The staff were friendly and helpful. This is a nice country pub in a great location. The food was prompt and a good standard and there was a great local ale selection available. The only reason I marked this down a little was the price which was excessive. You could put some of that down to location but not all... More

Many thanks for your review, we do try to keep our prices in line with surrounding establishments, we also try to use locally sourced/brewed products and unfortunately these can come at a premium, but well worth it in our opinion. Regards Rachel More
