We arrived at the hotel which looked very good, only to be informed our room was in a separate part of the hotel over the road facing the hotel, not impressed. Had a meal in the cricketers bar on first night and the food was cooked beautifully, but rather expensive, good job we didn't eat in the formal restaurant. Staff overall... More

We were doing a 23 mile walk called the Hovingham Hobble. We decided to stay overnight in the village following our walk. The Worsley Arms was the only accommodation available in the village. £145 for a double seemed a bit steep, but it was a Saturday night. It's around fifty quid cheaper for a Friday. The hotel is a traditional... More

We stayed here on a short 2 day break recently, our room (19) was situated in the annex across the road. Whilst it was not over big it provided all that you would need and the bathroom (shower) was quite spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, plenty of white fluffy towels and reasonably decorated throughout. Upon arrival and... More

If you haven't been to the Worsley Arms yet make sure you do it soon. It's a Bucket List essential. From the first moment you walk in the door to the sad depart you never get the impression that you are being attended to by a paid member of staff . You are made to feel a very welcome friend... This hotel was a little tired looking. We were going to the prom at Castle Howard and this was near there so decided to book for one night. It is a little old fashioned and reminded me of a care home. The room that we were in was quite tired looking, could do with being modernised. The bed was two... More

My wife and I booked this as a deal on the internet, with the price we paid we were not expecting much. When we arrived we were very pleasantly suprised, on arrival our room was not ready so we went fora walk round the village. There is a bakery, hairdressers, general store and 2 coffee/cafe shops and 1 other pub.... More

Nice Hotel, clean and comfortable, the grounds are very pretty and well kept, staff very friendly, food excellent. The Village is set in nice surroundings but you have to have a car as it is quite a distance from places like York

Booked a 2 night stay in this beautiful Yorkshire village. Hotel very quaint, staff and service excellent and the food was wonderful - both dinner and breakfast. Rooms do need an upgrade but we had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend this hotel with its very friendly, helpful staff and delicious food.

We were accommodated in the cottages on the green opposite the hotel, our room was of a reasonable size, well furnished, clean and comfortable. We were on a bed and breakfast package but also made the wise decision to dine at the hotel each evening. The menu was good, the food quality very good and the selection of wines excellent,... More

We stayed for one night's B&B, and dined at the hotel. We were very favourably impressed by the whole experience, starting with a friendly and helpful welcome. We were fortunate to be able to dine al fresco, overlooking the hotel's garden. The atmosphere was calm and attentive, with no intrusive noise or muzak! The breakfast was delicious, accompanied by delightful... More
