Very good. The hotel could do with a lick of paint here and there, but it is very comfortable and homely. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, and the food was very good (although could do with a little more variety for gluten free people). All in all, a very good find!
We had a warm welcome , a drink in a friendly bar, and enjoyed good food . Our room was very snug , clean and comfortable . Breakfast very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you. You all work very hard and deserve to do well.
Stayed for only one night but really glad we chose to stay here. Had a a lovely large room overlooking road, not a problem as we always travel with earplugs! Ate here in the evening after having few drinks at the bar, food was great as was the service. All the team here were really friendly & helpful. Would definately recommend staying here if you are in the area.
A lovely hotel, easy to get to and lots to do in the area.Staff were friendly and the food was very good. Lots of choice for breakfast and evening meal choices although limited were also very good. A very pleasant stay. I had to come home early and was just charged for the nights I stayed, as it was a very reasonable price I offered to pay for the remainder of my stay, but this was declined. I hope to come back again.
Well hardly even noticed a storm last night . Cracking weekend in the North Yorkshire Moors . Roaring fires in hearths over 400 years old. The sound of clopping hooves from bygone drawn carriages on cobbled roads . Stepping back into bygone times . Sunsets telling wives tales truths , shepherd's happy the day after to have glorious blue skies . The only fog inside my head from the spirits in bottles of a night of rich conversation daubed with laughter , memories and dreams . Walks along wooded ,weaving ways . Trodden by feet and hoof for centuries, the shouting of drovers still heard on the breeze . Little Robins standing their ground in jungles of ancient Ash, Birch and Oak. Sundog light shows across clouds that you don't always see , we don't spend our time looking up . Finished off with Yorkshire's finest ..... Bettys.…
Omg the most amazing supportive staff experience we’ve ever had at any establishment!!! These guys went above and beyond. Me and my partner after coming back from the local lovely White Swan pub weren’t sure how to get back in the hotel other than through the from door (which was locked since it was past operational front-desk hours). So we managed to ask the lovely lady who was working at the pub - who happened to know the hotel manager, to be in touch with them to find out how to get back in. Turns out all we needed to do was use the back entrance. Though as a testament to how attentive they are, within 15 mins, the manger had driven himself to the hotel (bear in mind this was around midnight) and had come to make sure we had managed to get into our rooms! Thank you again so much for your hospitality and for the delicious breakfast the following morning! Really good value and really amazing level of hospitality. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!…
Just feels like popping into a friends for a bite to eat and drink. Matt Emily and team can't do enough to make you feel welcome. Great menu which changes from time to time but always lots of choice. Lucky to have it as our local!
My husband and I have just returned from a short break at this hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and breakfast superb. Our room was spotless with lovely comfy beds. The whole place was well heated which was good as the weather was a little chilly. Thank you all for a pleasant stay.
Came for lunch on our way through. Ordered three adult meals and two kids meals. Got three kids meals and two adult. Burgers were slightly undercooked. The meals arrived at different times with the first and last separated by eight minutes. Portions were ok but it all seemed slightly haphazard and disorganised. It seems like a chain pub with no real management guidance. We won’t be going back.
Kings head is old character building with uneven floors big rooms I would imagine expensive to maintain which is why I marked as four as present owners still getting to grips with this task but so far so good. What you cannot fault was the cleanliness of the bedrooms and general hotel and pub areas. Staff friendly and Peter was very attentive and ensured all was satisfactory. Emma the head cook produced the best English breakfasts and her steak and ale pie was superb. We were lucky to be there when the locals did open mike night guitar jamming with us as backing singers fantastic talent and night we had a lovely stay. The hotel has ground floor cottage room which would be suitable for disabled guests.
