Recently spent 3 nights with friends for a walking weekend. The accommodation is located behind the pub in converted outbuildings, across a courtyard. Other accommodation is behind the car park so in both cases you are isolated from both any pub noise and the main road. The town is very small but has 4 decent pubs and this one looks... More

Nice pub in a lovely Market Town. We stayed here for a weekend of walking with our spaniel. We were put in the doggy room which as usual is the smallest and tattiest, why do pubs charge an extra £15 to £20 pounds for the dog and still put you in a room that no body else would want, the... More

This is a fantastic place to stay. Lovely location, staff, food and service. This beautiful Market town is a delight and I would recommend staying here for any occasion. Great location for trips and walks in the English countryside. Really enjoyed Chillin in this historic place. Thanks.

We received a friendly welcome to this idyllic pet welcoming country pub. Our room was situated in another building to the rear and was perfectly clean, tidy and peaceful just what was required for a peaceful weekend break after the weekly rigours of work. The breakfast was first class and the evening meals in the restaurant excellent. The place was... More

We stopped for one night and it did the job. Breakfast was excellent and there was the option of other eateries in the village for evening meals. Room was clean and adequate as we were there just for the one night.

I'd read on the reviews that the lady owner is grumpy and that is exactly how I'd describe her. No pleasantries ( no hello, please thank you or anything) at all with my family or the other family sitting at breakfast yet quite happy to chat to couples, even as I checked out she didn't ask how my stay was... We arrived on Saturday teatime and were greeted by a very friendly barman who we later found out was called Chris, he checked us in and walked us to our room. We stayed on room 22 which is away from the pub and located in the gardens, we were very happy with our room, which was very clean and had... More

Booked the hotel on a travel zoo deal, I felt we were put in an annexe , there were some workmen staying there who were off early and noisey when leaving. The curtains wouldn't pull on, the bath taps were dirty as they were under shower. One of the pillow cases wasn't clean. I'm not a complainer was going to... More

Last week we enjoyed a midweek 3 night break in Kirkbymoorside, enjoying some walking on the moors and visits to historic landmarks. We booked online and found the B&B rate of 70 pounds per night to be very reasonable. We were however prepared for basic accommodation with little in the way of luxuries. How wrong we were ! On arrival... More
