We stayed there for one night on our way from Oslo to Geiranger. The owner was friendly and welcoming. We chose the norwegian room which was spacious and cosy! Beds were comfortable for a good nights sleep. Nice shower and cosy washroom. The only minus was the water tapes as they were of the old fashioned type. The ones with separate faucets for cold and hot water. We found it difficult to use. The faucets in the kitchenette and shower were of modern type. All in all it was a nice. The breakfast was nice too!

My wife booket this hotel as part of our Norway trip. We only regret we only booket one night. We should have stayed longer. We didn't go there for hiking trips or anything just wanted to experience this place. We have booket a warm hot tub outside having a beer and a drink watching the tree line. The hotel is decorated in a cosy and warm atmosphere and the owners and staff are relaxed and very service minded. You feel so welcome. Great selection of wine and beer. We had pre booket a 3 course dinner which was of high standard and great taste. After dinner and due to the cosy atmosphere created at this place you basically mingle with the other guest, outside on the nice deck watching the wilderness or inside around the cosy bar area. Breakfast was served by C19 guidelines but they had really made the most out of it and nothing missing. What a great place to stay and dine. We have to go back there as this was really something else.

French room was fine, food excellent but it didn't say anywhere that the hot tub is only available in the Summer? Stayed at a hotel in Czechia and sitting in a hot tub under the stars drinking bubbly surrounded by deep snow was amazing. Real disappointment. The wood burner in the room was just for decoration (no fuel provided) and the fire wasn't lit in the lounge area - small seating area off large dining room. There was no separate resident lounge with comfy chairs/sofas perhaps prioritising room rental space over such luxuries.......

Room Tip: French room - people were very quiet but you could hear quiet background talking from next door...

Hello 😁 thanks for the feedback, we changed the hottub and as I speak also available during the winter. It was quite a challenge with sometimes -30 during the cold winter months 😉 the woodstove in the French room is indeed for decoration due to safety regulations. I'm very sorry that the woodfired oven wasn't on in the dining room. Normally we fire it up during the afternoon and evening during the cold winter. Sometimes we do not fire it up when the temperature isn't so cold outside, it will be too warm in the restaurant when we do so.

A most relaxing week in this beautiful boutique hotel set amidst spectacular Norwegian countryside. Marco and his team look after guests with genuine warmth, it would be hard to find a more homely place to stay. The hotel’s food was very thoughtfully prepared, with a great range of largely Norwegian ingredients and tastes and, nicely summarised by my children, as “delicious and divine”. Whilst there are nice local cross country skiing tracks (and great derelict downhill ski jump which provided a top to bagging slope) the hotel is also close to Beistolen and Yddin for a larger range of cross country or downhill skiing in the winter months. Simply a gorgeous place to stay.

We had an unforgetable stay. A very nice unique hotel with fantastic friendly staf, breakfast and diner, by far the best we had for a long long time. Marco and Marie-Jose Robeerst have made a very beautyful place to stay at Herangtunet. An absolute MUST for lovers of unique hotels. We will definitly come back.
