We stayed here in 2016 and our time was amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and everything we expected. The restaurant staff were pleasant and the food and drinks were excellent. We enjoyed the view from the pool. The walk to the beach is short. The beach is uncrowded. The staff booked our fishing trip and our horseback riding tour for us. The horseback riding was amazing. I cannot wait to return to visit here!

Saw the most amazing sunset ever at this place. The location is absolutely stunning. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars, is that it's located at quite a hill. Rooms mostly down the hill, restaurant and reception on top. Not ideal if you have bad knees :-). Also, the staff wasn't really friendly and the bar closed way too early - around 9PM. Nevertheless, that sunset makes it worthwhile!

Would have been 4 stars but do not like the false advertising such as. They turned the wifi range down after the first night so you have to go to the bar area for wifi. Also there was no restaurant or bar besides breakfast. Breakfast was not good. Lunch meat ham for meat. Rubber pancakes. Boxed juice. Scrambled eggs. Ocean is down the hill across the street, beach is a half mile away. They said they could book travel for us but they never followed through. The rooms were great. Views and clean. The whole country loves over selling so be careful. I travel alot and Costa Rico has amazing sites but the people are the worst. I have never had issues on vacation like this. I'm glad I got to see the sited but the people and food is 905 garbage. When you find the good 10% it is really good then.

the location of this hotel is totally worth it, any room will have an spectacular view of the bay, and since the room has a nice balcony, you can have there all of the sunset and sunrise at your comfortable room. also it is located just in front of the beach and many convenient stores are nearby. one thing to mind is that there are many stairs to go around the hotel bungalows, pool and restaurant, so if you are travelling with people with back or knee problems, this might be an issue. the restaurant food is OK, but dont expect much from the breakfast since it is a la carte and not buffet...you might end up a bit hungry with some of the choices :(

We ate there after it got dark and had no idea of the fantastic views we missed. The food was great, I had perfectly cooked piece of tuna. We had to go back there the next day for the sunset (just stayed for drinks however)

I am a very seasoned traveler who has Fully changed its way of travelling and as a consequence stayed at this place. The reason is very simple. rankings of hôtels are now suffering of inertia. Best hotels from day one stay at the top and will raise their price. So I don't book anymore in advance except for first and last night. We need 2 rooms and we travel in peak season. But Hotel have always availabilty and you can pop up in the afternoon, see with your own eyes and pick the view you want....and negociate. This Hotel is an excellent value for the dollars with a million dollar view. And its ranking is bad. Why? The weight of comments history. They have no more value...trust me . I stay in 5 stars when I want and in no star if I fall in love. I will not comment the Hotel but I just recommend it.

My husband and I stayed for one evening. The resort was well kept. Friendly staff and the ocean view from our room was absolutely stunning. View from the pool was gorgeous.. Our room was next to some trees where the Howler Monkeys hung out. My husband was able to get close enough to take some photos. Loved this resort and would recommend it. Service was great.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were very happy with our choice of accommodations. We had an ocean-view cabina from which we watched the sunset every night and we were very sad to leave. The place is a little frayed around the edges, but it is also a very good value. The location is unbeatable, a 2 minute walk down the hill to the beach and only a few minutes walk from several very good restaurants and convenience stores. The food at the hotel is, in our opinion, very good (especially the guacamole) and the service is friendly and reasonably efficient - it helps to speak a little Spanish. The office staff were extremely helpful with excursions and equipment rentals. Carlos at SeeGreen is a great resource. A big thank you to Jimmy and Nancy and the rest of the staff at the hotel.

1- Delicious breakfast/ 5 different options. 2- Amazing sunsets from the swimming pool. 3- I recommend Ocean View Rooms. 4- Very very close to the beach. 5- I would go again to Carrillo Beach to Guanamar Hotel certainly. Just as improvement area for the hotel, I got at the beginning the wrong room and no one from reception could help me to tell me what happened, I had to go until the reception to fix the issue 30 minutes later, but generally everything was very good.
