This was a second time I stayed in Hotel Zabljak (and for sure the last one). This is far from 4 stars hotels when it comes to comfort, service and food. Therefore, it is heavily overpriced for what you get in return. In fact, it's so stressful experience that you will ask yourself ''Was that relaxing holiday for what I paid as it was 4 stars hotel?''. The biggest problem is their unfriendly staff. Some of them are openly rude and aggressive (as that old waiter working evening shifts) to other staff that are not plain rude, but not very friendly either. All of them just make you feel unwelcome and their attitude is as they are doing your huge favour for hosting you: zero smile, do not care for your needs to even rude answers and eye-rolling... Because of Hotel Zabljak's terrible staff and the energy they create, we did not feel welcome and relaxed at all. The second problem are their very uncomfortable beds and sofa. It's not type of place you can't wait to enjoy resting in your room's bed or sofa. The beds are too firm, too short and too shaky. Sofa is too small and too firm (very uncomfortable and not enough space for two people). The third issue - they have no elevator. Expect to climb from the parking or streets about 20 stars to the reception and then further to your floor. If you have a luggage, expect to sweat a lot (I guess that is Hotel Zabljak's four star experience). Of course they do not care to help with luggages or apologize of their lack of elevator. Their parking is absolute mess - it's crowded, narrow, stressful and someone occupied our parking that was assigned to us. They expect you to lock your parking space with some keys (expect to get your hands dirty - another Hotel Zabljak's four star experience). Again, parking level is at least 20 stairs to the reception. Except of one lamb dish, their food is very low (student dorm's) quality. It's very bland and tasteless (except of one dish with lamb that was the only great, pretty much the only good thing in our entire hotel stay). On the first morning we discovered that milk was spoiled (too savoury tasted). On our remark, they replaced the milk. It's pity they do not offer local food which is high quality organic food. Instead they use lots of processed low quality food from supermarket. As for serving it, expect more surprises there. For example they offered us ''fruits'' for dinner and brought two wholes pineapples (with skin and not cut at all). Cutting your pineapple is another Hotel Zabljak's 4* stars experience. They abolished buffet and hence their choice is minimal (they offer the same food choice for breakfast and dinner). They justified it with covid-19 measures but we checked at two other hotels and they they had buffet during the same time. So, covid-19 was just Hotel Zabljak's excuse to abolish buffet and offer low quality and limited food options. Wifi was slow and not very stable. As a ''4 * stars hotel'' they claim they have a spa. I advise you to not even dare to ask at the reception for a spa (or just try or and you will see yourself their kind answer :-) The only positive was their big restaurant garden. Hotel Zabljak would maybe OK choice with 50% lower prices than now. (I say maybe because they rude staff is not even worth paying that amount for a stress and feeling of discomfort they cause). Again, their facilities and services are far from level of prices they charge. They are far from 4* hotel (objectively they are 1* or max 2* hotel - and I am being generous with this). Hotel Zabljak is disgrace for Zabljak and Montenegro and I would not recommend you booking it at all. If you really want to experience true 4 star hotel (with 4 stars Western standards of food, comfort and hospitality) try Soa Hotel and maybe Polar Star Hotel in Zabljak. Otherwise, if you prefer saving some money avoid Hotel Zabljak, you can get the same level of service and comfort for way lower prices.…
Having stayed number of times at this hotel, I feel gratitude to their staff - all of them, including receptionists, waiters, cooks etc - for superb service and desire to make the stay as good and cosy as possible. And sometimes it can be demanding to match all sorts of diets and allergies of people I bring in but they have always been up to the task and nothing has ever been too much of a trouble for them. Thanks again for impeccably great experience every time at you hotel.
Worst stay in Montenegro! Although staff did what they could the hotel is not a 4 star worthed!!! Room very small, too cold or too hot, bathroom looked like a swimming pool after having a shower, food tasteless and of poor quality, lots of processed things for breakfast, awful coffee. All extras had to be paid. Less is more!
I stayed in the Hotel Zabljak for two nights and it was a pleasant stay. I had a lovely view to the mountain peaks from my hotel room. The room size was ok and it was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners were nice; lots to choose from and the food was tasty. The location is good; near the supermarket and also near the Durmitor national park. Only minus is that there was no elevator in the hotel and the stairs to the upper floors were somewhat tight.
Although the hotel blurb says it is recently refurbished I have to doubt that. The hotel is centrally located and I'm sure that there are good views from some rooms. However, the access from the street is all steps and, once inside, there isn't a lift. My room was ok but a wooden floor does not require a rug which can quickly get dirty and is just not necessary. I was part of a group and, whilst there, 2 of our rooms had water coming through the light fittings from the rooms above them. This is a real safety issue which I hope has been sorted! The breakfast was just ok. I think this hotel could do better
