One of the best hotel we ever did, everything is perfect, there is a private beach, a pristine pool, 2 restaurants. This place is really quiet, you do not feel that they are other guests. There is a chef onsite who can cook for you. The food is delicious, the breakfast too. They put water in your room on a daily basis, same for the swimming pool, there is a basket with complimentary water waiting for you. The staff is kind, smiling and welcoming. We will definitely come back.

The management had offered us to use the pools at the private pool villas, which we felt was inappropriate as this did not do justice to the guests who had deliberately booked this area. An upgrade to a suite with private pool was unfortunately not possible, as the villa size was too large for two people.
Overall, we had a nice stay in a dreamlike hotel, but the negative taste remains, especially with a booking rate in the top four-digit (€) range. The pictures of the loungers led us to assume that we had booked a hotel of the lower middle class, which contradicts the otherwise beautiful impressions.
The management was service-oriented on the day of departure with an apology email, which we appreciate. My wife and I stayed at The Sanchaya for 3 nights during the Bintan Triathlon weekend. The experience was nothing short of amazing. From the time we disembarked at the ferry terminal where we were whisked away to the hotel’s exclusive lounge, up until it was time to leave, the staff were always on hand to assist us, whether with our baggage or any queries we had about the locale. 2 things stuck out for us. First, we were impressed that the staff all knew us by name and that the establishment was not run like a normal hotel. We were personally greeted by Greg and his team upon arrival, and there were no “designated” timings - we could ask the staff to clean our rooms any time of the day, and I even had my laundry collected in the early afternoon and returned in less than 3 hours. For instance, as the staff knew I was there for the triathlon, I was asked if I would like to have breakfast delivered to my room before my race (at around 3.30am!). I have never been so well-fed before a race, and upon my (limping) return back to the hotel after the triathlon, I was congratulated by everyone I encountered for having completed the race. An absolute haven with excellent staff, management and beautifully styled surroundings, all we wanted from our trip and more. Transfer was organised by the hotel despite the fact we had to come in from the ferry terminal at the bottom of the island, 1.5 hour drive away. We were greeted on arrival by manager Greg and his team despite the late hour which was a lovely touch. The water villas are exceptionally spacious and stylish, room service that night was prompt and breakfast the following morning, and intact all food served was exquisite. We enjoyed the gym, sunset yoga and a deep tissue massage in the spa during our stay, there are also padel courts which we would have used had we stayed longer. This place is really special and we already cannot wait to return, well done Greg and team 👏

My husband and I recently stayed at The Sanchaya for 13 nights for our honeymoon (June-July 2023). We honestly could not fault a single thing during our stay. From the initial booking to our communications to the lead up to the stay, the staff are beyond attentive to your needs. I think something really special about this property is that all staff, regardless of what area they work, know your name and address you throughout the resort which really makes a personal touch.
We caught the Ferry from Singapore and were greeted upon arrival and into the Sanchaya lounge, check in prior to going to the property was a breeze. We were advised that we have been upgraded on our honeymoon which was a pleasant surprise and one that we are very grateful for. Upon arrival, we were personally greeted by the general manager, Greg. I think this is also something very special as it shows that the resort truly is client focussed.
Whilst there is not all too much to do on the Island, anything we wanted to do was easily arranged through the hotel.
Our room was very tidy and spacious, our view was outstanding and the amenities were fabulous (Aesop).
The staff, Artisan’s, were all absolutely amazing and tended to your every need. Whilst we felt that all staff we fantastic, Maria, Elma, Dewi, Ino, Budi (Chef) and Ronilo (Sommelier) were all absolutely outstanding with their service.
We had such an amazing experience at the ‘Sommelier’s Table’ which was our favourite onsite activity and one we would definitely recommend and do again. Our sommelier was so attentive and informative of the wines that were paired to cheese, we throughly enjoyed our time in the beautiful decanter room that is a wine lovers dream!
We enjoyed the onsite cooking class and cocktail making class too! We organised through the hotel a tour of the mangroves and excursion to the city which we were glad we did.
We loved that it is a very quiet and private resort, there is less than 30 rooms in total so even when at full capacity, there never seems to be an overwhelming amount of people and therefore, the services are always accommodating.
If you are looking at a quiet and private escape, this is the place to be.
In Bintan itself, there is quite a bit of developments happening and we foresee that it will become a popular tourist destination within the coming years, however, Sanchaya is and will always be a destination within itself.
We are very grateful for our stay and are looking forward to staying in the near future again.

We had an incredible stay here. It was two nights of relaxation and excellent service. They think of everything to make you stay the best it can be. We stayed in the Villa on the lagoon. It was lovely. Bug repellent was available as was sunscreen and aloe. The resorts filtrated water was provided in large glass bottles everywhere. We always had access to fresh water. Each night we found a treat in our room waiting for us. The robes were luxurious. The pool was stunning. We spent hours in it! The resort is small enough that you feel as though you have the entire place to yourself. The staff and service was outstanding. The private room at the ferry terminal, the car service and attention to detail was amazing. Loved it.

We just spent an amazing 4 days in this secluded, idyllic spot in Bintan. From the moment you step off the ferry and their staff manage your immigration and bags, you’re treated to exceptional service by GM Greg and his team. They are prompt with any request big or small, the service is warm, personable and the staff knew our names quickly. Special thanks to the main restaurant staff - they made our stay so special!
The rooms, pool, decor of all the spaces are gorgeous and beautifully maintained (don’t miss the library!) - very spacious suites, the main pool is huge and private beach is super clean and views from the pool and room balcony are spectacular. The limited number of rooms means it never feels crowded and you can enjoy a true boutique luxury hotel experience in a tranquil location.
Finally, all our meals were delicious. Western, local and Thai cuisine are all worth trying and they have an extensive menu (suitable for kids too).
Finally, the spa is a must - experienced therapists and spacious rooms. Highly recommended for a super easy getaway from Singapore without the stress and cost of flights!

My family consisting of my two elderly parents, my sister and my niece and I have just had the pleasure of staying at the sensational Sanchaya Resort in beautiful Bintan and let me tell you, it was an experience like no other. From the moment we arrived at the ferry terminal we were greeted with warm hospitality and incredible efficient service. The amazing staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible and soon became special friends.
Fadil, Roy, Nara and Celyn thank you for your beautiful warm welcome and making us feel at home from the moment we arrived and for your continual warmth and kindness.
The resort itself is a true oasis, with beautifully manicured gardens, pristine enormous grounds and luxurious accommodations. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, offering all the comforts of home and more. The decor which has been beautifully curated made for a magical setting.
But what truly made this resort stand out was the exceptional service provided by all the staff. From the front desk to the restaurant, the pool, every artisan staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and always eager to assist in any way they could. During our stay, we formed lasting friendships with many of the staff members, who went out of their way to make me feel like a valued guest and always greeted us by name. Yohan, Dewi, Madon, Tika (who was training and fitted in just beautifully with the wonderful team) Anjus at the pool preempted every one of our needs before we even knew It was a need. Jun with his wide broad smile and always eager to help and beautiful Ika with her friendly warm disposition. You made our family holiday one we will always remember.
The food at the resort was exquisite, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from and exceptional presentation prepared by Chef Budi and his team are true culinary artists and it was a real treat to dine on their food which we felt was perfectly priced for the quality of each dish. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we were consistently impressed with the quality and presentation of each meal.
Thank you to our wonderful friend Hadi our driver who took us for a wonderful 3 hour tour of Bintan - he was our professional photographer, our guide and our friend and we won’t ever forget his kindness and smile.

had a bespoke staycation from Singapore with utmost compliments to Greg and his wonderful team!
Only complaints were: the surrounding seas were so shallow and safe for my kids that you had to walk almost 100 metres out to get a full dip. if the bread accompanying each meal is soft instead a missing hammock to the most well kept and secluded beach
Otherwise, had a most restorative and wonderful staycation with the family! worth every cent.
the firefly tour arranged by the hotel is exclusive and my kids could experience the delight of fireflies in the dark many times over.

We do welcome non-resident Guests to enjoy lunch or dinner at either The Dining Room or Tasanee Grill, as well as refreshing drinks at The Bar.
Our Tasanee Grill opens for dinner, serving authentic and vibrant Thai street food. For lunch, bites and goodies are available for order, or you may order from The Dining Room that serves local and international dishes.
Tasanee Grill is located by the pool and beach with al fresco setting, while The Dining Room is indoor with a small terrace for outdoor seating.
