The Sanchaya is best of both worlds: highly personalised service as in top boutique hotels, running like clockwork as in top resorts. The GM is extremely available, the Chef deserves a special mention as the food is truly great and the Sommelier is as nice as competent. In fact we never encountered any staff member who wasn’t trying his/her utmost best for us. The room (we had a 2-bedroom villa, the perfect solution for a family of 5) is extremely well-maintained and the location (literally on the beach) cannot be beaten. We had only a 3-day stay and I wish we had stayed longer. You know you are in for a treat as soon as you depart the ferry in Bintan. Sanchaya's crew will greet you and ensure a smooth transition to the hotel. While we had a standard room and it was not huge by any measure, it had a beautiful balcony to watch the water and hide out when it rained. The main pool was huge and gorgeous. Most of the time I had it to myself. The private beach is also picture perfect and extremely private. We had no trouble claiming a cabana far from the other guests, and the staff ensured we had drinks, food and water while we lounged. Our room also had a soaking tub, which was such a treat. For those who like to run, I would venture off the resort grounds everyday to run around the lake. While it was not the most scenic route, it provided a 5-mile loop, and I experienced no issues with safety.Dear Mrs Theophile, It was a joy to have you at the estate in September and I cannot thank you enough for having come all the way from NYC! The staff are very well trained, offering a personalised and luxurious stay, ensuring you have everything you need every step of the way. From bug spray, to sunscreen, to sparkling water at the pool, to the aesop amenities, these guys get the details right. The only thing we didn't love was the dinner menu and the food for dinner, but breakfast and lunch were superb! The bed and rooms were lovely, cleanliness of the rooms were neat and clean make us feel comfortable staying at hotel The Sanchaya.as well, as were the hotel grounds. Not much to say that has not been said before. This establishment has been one of the best experiences in a hotel ever. Because above all the attention and professionality you would expect, they were very dedicated and helpful with a problem my friend had beyond the hotel premises. Sorry for the extra work you had to put on, but I know you did it genuinely. And that is why is doubled appreciated. The Sanchaya hotel offers an exceptional experience. We indulged in relaxation, savored delicious cuisine, but above all, cherished the warm and helpful assistance of the remarkable staff. The key to their exceptional service can be distilled into a single statement from a staff member who's been with them since day one, over 11 years ago. He shared, "We are like a big family, and we all hold great affection for our CEO." It's worth noting that the CEO, an Aussie who resides on-site and speaks Indonesian, adds a unique touch to this wonderful establishment.

Stayed here for the National Day holiday and this must be the most tranquil and restful getaway we have visited. And with Senchaya just a 60min ferry ride from Singapore, a really convenient one. The grounds are beautifully manicured and maintained, room luxuriously decorated and equipped, service impeccable and personal. Special thanks to Greg, Nawa, Wewan and the countless smiling and hospitable service staff who made our stay memorable - we will definitely be back. Special mention on the spa which we thoroughly enjoyed - really enjoyed the signature spa - our only regret was that we did not have the time to squeeze in another session!

Easily our family’s favourite resort destination. The most genuine and thoughtful staff, an extensive menu with a variety of dining options (Western, Indonesian, Thai etc), and most importantly— the privacy of a more secluded region of the Bintan beaches.

We stayed for 2 nights and it was amazing, Start from the welcoming team, nawa ,lina,fifit was very good at their job and give us hoteltour, Then at the dining room there was ino,maria,jeti serve us with extra care Also at the bar , jesu and reno was exceptional with the cocktails The view also nice to enjoy and relax snjoying the time passed by, Sanchaya made our litte trip epic ! Beautiful colonial style luxury resort set on its own private beach. We really enjoyed our short (2 night) stay here and would highly recommend it. Amazing greeting and service on an arrival at the ferry terminal in Bintan as we were taken to their private lounge, served refreshments while the team organised our entry into Indonesia. Greeted at the resorts entry by the GM Greg and his team - after a private tour of the facilities we were shown to our large, private and spectacularly appointed suite. Cocktails by the beautiful infinity pool, walks along the sandy white beach, delicious meals and amazing service made it a wonderful short stay. Really enjoyed the library, a game of croquet and a scenic ride around the lake. Thank you to all the Sanchaya team.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Sanchaya for 13 nights for our honeymoon (June-July 2023). We honestly could not fault a single thing during our stay. From the initial booking to our communications to the lead up to the stay, the staff are beyond attentive to your needs. I think something really special about this property is that all staff, regardless of what area they work, know your name and address you throughout the resort which really makes a personal touch. We caught the Ferry from Singapore and were greeted upon arrival and into the Sanchaya lounge, check in prior to going to the property was a breeze. We were advised that we have been upgraded on our honeymoon which was a pleasant surprise and one that we are very grateful for. Upon arrival, we were personally greeted by the general manager, Greg. I think this is also something very special as it shows that the resort truly is client focussed. Whilst there is not all too much to do on the Island, anything we wanted to do was easily arranged through the hotel. Our room was very tidy and spacious, our view was outstanding and the amenities were fabulous (Aesop). The staff, Artisan’s, were all absolutely amazing and tended to your every need. Whilst we felt that all staff we fantastic, Maria, Elma, Dewi, Ino, Budi (Chef) and Ronilo (Sommelier) were all absolutely outstanding with their service. We had such an amazing experience at the ‘Sommelier’s Table’ which was our favourite onsite activity and one we would definitely recommend and do again. Our sommelier was so attentive and informative of the wines that were paired to cheese, we throughly enjoyed our time in the beautiful decanter room that is a wine lovers dream! We enjoyed the onsite cooking class and cocktail making class too! We organised through the hotel a tour of the mangroves and excursion to the city which we were glad we did. We loved that it is a very quiet and private resort, there is less than 30 rooms in total so even when at full capacity, there never seems to be an overwhelming amount of people and therefore, the services are always accommodating. If you are looking at a quiet and private escape, this is the place to be. In Bintan itself, there is quite a bit of developments happening and we foresee that it will become a popular tourist destination within the coming years, however, Sanchaya is and will always be a destination within itself. We are very grateful for our stay and are looking forward to staying in the near future again. …

We chose this resort based on proximity to Singapore, as were were on a holiday in Japan, and wanted a beach/resort vibe without taking planes. trains, and automobiles. We also wanted to see Singapore. We were not disappointed. The resort is luxurious, well-appointed, and elegant. The food was top-notch, from the included breakfast with many options, to the beachy food for lunch, to the amazing dinners. We do wish that this was adults only because there were a number of children there, and although I love children, it does change the vibe a bit. Still, I would go back in a heartbeat.
