We found the hotel to be very tranquil and relaxing. Rooms were large and very clean. Bathrooms had a large shower and towel heating rack. We had a great view of the lake. This area was at least 20 minutes from town so plan accordingly. There were two restaurants at the hotel, one a buffet (which was also the breakfast... More

This was a great hotel chosen by our tour Globus/Fox World Travel. IT included all the necessary things and was quaint and perfect for our trip. Beautiful views await you and it is definitely worth the stay.

We booked this hotel late in the preparation and planing for this trip and we were put in a very small cabin away from the main lodge. They were adequate but very small with very little space away from the double bed. The bathroom had a small shower sink and toilet that you could barely turn around I but it... More

Stayed at the hotel for one night having flown in to Egilsstadir Airport and then driven down. The rooms were comfortable and very welcoming. Arrived too late for dinner (closes at 10pm) but breakfast was good and an excellent selection - the best we had on our entire trip across the country.

Traveling with my wife and teenage daughter, sharing a triple room. We arrived at 21:00 and had dinner. The hotel has 2 restaurants, both with large balconies facing the lake, beautiful surroundings. The restaurant in the upper level has Indian inspired cuisine and the one on the lower level is a Icelandic buffet, our choice. Great assortment of smoked and... More

While there are some nice aspects to this hotel it seems to be poorly run and also has some poor design features. On the + side the setting is wonderful, in one of Iceland’s few forests, and the breakfast buffet is very good. The dinner buffet (extra cost) is a real marvel and a carnivore’s delight, with specialties such as... More

This is a very nice hotel located on the edge of a national forest. Very much in a quiet sylvan setting. The facility is modern with a very nice dining room. The breakfast buffet was excellent. it's a bit of a drive from Egilsstadir but still convenient. Plenty of hiking and biking trails and a beautiful lake at the end... More

We stayed in the newly constructed building. It smelled of paint and workmen were actively working on the new building next door. Our room was very HOT as the sun beat in! The 3 small windows didn't help at all. The room was new and the bathroom was spacious. The dining area had great views of the forest and mountains.... More

Absolutely lovely hotel just out of town across from a beautiful lake. The room was clean, comfortable, bright and inviting. decor is modern and very tasteful. The breakfast was very good, lots of options. There are bikes for hotel guests and if you walk up to the school soccer field, adjacent to hotel, there is a well marked hiking trail... More

I stayed for 1 night at this hotel during September. I must say the hotel is lovely, the grounds are beautiful. BUT, as a vegetarian, the dinner buffet price was extremely expense for what you got. There were only a few selections available (the ubiquitous salad, of course!!) and some cheeses, breads and a lentil soup....all of which was fine... More
